Teapot Tuesday

Yep, it's Wednesday. I just needed this to dry before I could take a pic. As it turned out, what I was waiting for to dry didn't work out like I wanted. Oh well. I still like the way the card turned out.

This week's TPT card goes to Stockton NJ. Alan and Ellen are a couple in need of some cheering up. Isn't that what Teapot Tuesday is for? :-) After being together for 15 years, they finally tied the not on March 9th of this year. They've now discovered Alan has some serious health concerns.  You can read their full story HERE. However, their friend Marie (a fellow Teapotter) wanted us to focus on the joy of their recent union.

We were asked to use Red and Green as our color scheme. Bonus points if we included a cake.

I pulled out the Hot of the Press papers again. They just seemed perfect given the romantic nature of the card as well as the color scheme. You can see I attempted to glitter the cake image. It didn't turn out just as I'd hoped. But one thing I did give a test-run was how to work over top of a stamped image if it isn't done in Staz On or Memento. Lightly spray with Workable Fixative then let dry about 10-15 minutes. Then you can go back with water colors or glue/ glitter without streaking the stamped image.

I added pearls to the corners and though you can just barely make out one or two on the bottom tier of the cake, I used the teensy tiny pearls from SU between the ribbon strands on the cake decorations. To insure they stuck, I put a smidge dab of Crystal Effects then dropped the pearl into it. There are 2 on the top layer, 3 on the middle and 4 on the bottom.  I matted the image on SU Garden Green.

The tag is punched from the 3-Tag Sizzix die then Best Wishes stamped in SU Real Red using a stamp from Paper Crafts. The flower is hand crocheted and attached to the tag with a small brad. I added Crystal Effects to the top of the brad (liberal amount) and added the vintage pearl button. A strip of red ribbon helped set off the vintage lace trim.

Sending Teapotter Blessings to Alan Johnson and Ellen McShane of Stockton NJ.
