DECEMBER DAILY with Festive Frolic - Album is DONE!

 Well, almost. LOL

Good morning, crafty friends!

I've spent six weeks finishing this December Daily album. This will be the first holiday season Bob will be home for the entire event. I hope to throw in some daily fun activities, places to visit, that kind of thing to truly complete an album from Dec. 1 - 31.

I say 'almost', because I want to put something on the cover yet. Something with dimension. I'm thinking creating something dimensional with a picture of our tree so that will have to come later.

This is the inside front cover and front page. I've been contemplating cutting another Santa out to create a chip board on that cover page.

Then the oops:

While setting the pages up to turn, part of the bottom ring broke. Which means... I'll be cutting the album apart and making it into a office ring album. But that's okay. I can add yarns, fibers, ribbons on the rings. I have until Thursday to figure it out. Why? 

Because Friday Premiere's are returning with Friday Flip-Throughs. So stay tuned. In the mean time, the video is available on my channel today. Just CLICK HERE.

MEMORY DEX MONDAY - Part 1

 Good afternoon, friends.

Had a rough start to my morning and my head still hurts. I did want to come in and introduce this new series I'll be doing on my YouTube channel the second and fourth Monday each month until the series is concluded.

Rolodex came into play in 1958. These were like the secretary's assistant. They contained all the contact information a secretary would need with a flip of a finger. 

In 2015, Heidi Swapp took rolodex up several notches, turning them in to a small way to create art and be a form of memory keeping. 

MemoryDex resurged a couple of years ago. I think this was due to people having more time on their hands and dug back into their crafting supplies. 

They seem to be making the rounds again. I've seen newer videos on YouTube and swaps being put together. I've also hear a lot of people say they have no clue what MemoryDex are or how to create them so I decided to put together this series.  I did an intro to the series HERE as part of the haul video. 

In today's video we go more in depth with the things you can use to make the basic Memory Dex, including what you may have in your own stash.  I hope you'll come play!

I didn't realize until I sat down to write this post that I hadn't posted cards from yesterday's video. 

I am dealing with a sinus headache today so I'm making this a quick, photo/ video laden post.

SCRAPBOOK SATURDAY - Cooking with Grandma!

Good morning, everyone!

We have a beautiful day on the program for today. I'm hoping the sun/ breeze will dry out the lawn a bit more so I can mow this afternoon. Crossing fingers and asking Mother Nature to play nice today.

I recently made the decision to get back to scrapbooking. By doing Scrapbook Saturday posts here and videos on my YouTube channel, I'm hoping those will help keep me motivated. I've also joined a challenge group on SplitcoastStampers.  The forum thread changes from month to month, I think. But here's the APRIL CHALLENGE THREAD. 

I'm going to be happy with four pages this month. Since I have this Saturday and next week, that is two double-page spreads.

I'm starting with a box of pictures of Adrian's first few years, under the age of 4, I think. I picked this first group of pictures from a day when we made Great Grammy's Cherry Cheesecake. That was always a tradition for 4th of July in our house growing up. I haven't put a title in yet. I need to locate my alpha letters or figure out which letter dies/ cricut I want to use. 

You'll learn more about the story behind this layout if you watch my YouTube video for today, but briefly, from the time Adrian was 18 months old she wanted to be in the kitchen with me. She was fascinated with whatever I was doing. Even now, when she visits, she wants to help.. or shove me out of the kitchen and just do. She is a chef in the making, I think. The video also tells significance of the apron and headband she is wearing. 

The title will go across the middle band. The white block on the bottom of this page will be the journaling spot. Details will wait until I have the work table back so I'm not working on my filming table. 

After not scrapbooking for years, this layout took me over four hours. I got lost in the process and watching the finale of Tournament of Champions on the DVR that I even missed a call from Bob. I'm still trying to get used to Bob being on 6 hr shifts instead of 12.

MONTHLY CHALLENGE - Kassie's Baby Album

 They are DONE!

I had so much fun and pleasure putting these albums together. A little on the gator-mouth side but if you tie the ribbon really tight, you don't even notice lol. 

I do need to finish filling in the rings today. By10:30 last night when I'd filmed, I'd been up since 4:30 a.m. and my fingers were tired of cooperating with me.
