WOYWW #735 - ATCs have arrived!

 Good morning, everyone!

Whew! It's been a busy couple of weeks with Bob home. Not used to him being gone, then home, only 2 weeks. He was supposed to leave this morning then got a schedule change last minute yesterday... so he's home for another week. I think his retirement is getting closer. 

I'm not showing my desk this week because the surface has been recently cleared for a full day of crafting/ video production. However, I'm not coming empty handed.

For starters, I'm featuring Christmas in July projects all month long across my social media. I'm doing themed videos 6 days a week. aka very early morning hours/ long days.

Okay... now, let's show off the beautiful ATCs I've received. (Susan, yours is going in the mail tomorrow now that I have an address.) This was our 14th year of blog hopping and making friends (though I've not been with the group the whole time)

Like card fronts, ATCs can serve dual purpose. Here, Susan applied a ATC clear pocket to the front of the card then added the ATC. Great dual journaling spot!

This adorable ATC came from Tracy. She is an amazing artist and has her own line of stamps. I'll be featuring her all month long in August on my  YouTube channel and on August 31st, we'll take a tour of where she creates these fun pieces!  I am waiting anxiously for my stamps to arrive.

WOYWW #465 - Bear Update

There you have it... for me - a mess. Lots of projects in progress and more to begin today. With the early release of a new SU stamp set and prepping for the catalog release June 1, I've been busy trying to get stuff up on the KellysCreativeStamping blog. I'm also determined to get the May Birthday/ Anniversary cards in the mail today. I only have a few left to address.

Update on Bear. He had his dental surgery yesterday. They removed one tooth, trimmed down the large growth and two smaller ones plus a general tooth clean. Doc John said that over-all he's in good health. Blood work came back clean. He just has a bit of an Eyeore complex.. woa is me. LOL 

Thursday he goes to the groomers for the first time. As long as they don't mess with the party fur around his face, I'll be anxious to see what he looks like truly free of mud mats and fluff for a few hours.  We have rain moving in tonight/ tomorrow/ Friday so I'm sure he'll lay in the first mud puddle in his kennel he can find as soon as we bring him home. LOL

I only got around to a few people last week. As you know, with Bob home I limit my computer time. I make sure to get to matching numbers and those who visit me. The rest are catch as catch can.

My desk as I left it last night. I've had to start using cheaters for close-up work. Darn it! If I have to use them, they're going to be colorful. 

Other things you'll see (L-R) bits and pieces from other projects. I'll put them together in the near future. A 12x12 One Sheet project for the SU blog. Towards the back, ink spots being used and stamp cases of ink spots, reinkers and stamps.

WOYWW #364

WOW! Not only has another week flown by but we are celebrating our 7th anniversary of visiting one another around the globe.

First and foremost, I want to wish blessings and a speedy recovery to our hostess, Julia Dunnit. She has worked so hard these past years to bring us all together but now she needs prayers as she faces surgery and recovery.  Her creative sidekick, Jan (LLJ on the list) will be taking over the reins for the next several weeks.

I apologize for not getting to any desks last week. Bob decided we needed to go to Springfield for a new lawn mower for me. Once we were home, the rains began again, meaning no computer for me. I do appreciate each and every one who stops for a visit and will do my darndest to return the favor between lightning strikes and company.

So my desk? Hmmm

This is my current work top. You'll see some of the embellishments for our Anniversary ATC Swap. I have one step left to complete then I can put everything together. However, my focus for the next two DAYS (not weeks as stated in original post) is the office. This is a small portion of the disaster to be finished:

As of right now, the plan is for my brother in law and his wife to visit this weekend. This is where they sleep. Eeek! So I have 3 days to get this office into shape. Now if my arm would just cooperate.

Incidentally, the 'tornado' comment last week was figurative - not an actual tornado. While there are many hitting across the country, I am blessed none have come near us. I do send prayers to those who have been hit. I saw on Weather Channel last night where one family in KS had recently completed a rebuild of their home leveled by a tornado only to be hit again yesterday.

Good morning, friends!

First I want to apologize for not getting to many of you last week. We've had lots of rainy days, meaning I do not plug the internet in. We have more moving in but I should have plenty of time over the weekend to visit.


Another week as rolled around and here we are visiting one another again. As promised, the tornado blew through here since you last visited. I've been working on the ATCs and cataloging my stamps.

The sizzix die and the strips of white hand-pressed (not by me) paper for an embellishment for the ATCs, the trusty paper trimmer and the straight edge. Towards the back you'll see some tombo markers I'll be using on the ATCs and a couple of small stamps. The rest is just the usual messy art-in-progress stuff we all have about.

Here is the picture I promised a couple of weeks ago. When I quit my job at Michaels in Peoria IL as a teacher and demonstrator, my weekly scrapbook group got together and made this ATC shadow box for me and had some of the employees I was closest to sign it as well. What a lovely going away gift. This hangs just above the tv in my stamping area (covering the power box). I miss my buddies at Michaels and I always make sure to connect with as many as I can when I go back to Peoria for visits.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Not a lot new on my desk this week. Bob came home Tuesday night and that's pretty much been the extent of my time. However, for an early Mother's Day present I did take a couple of days to myself and went down to Branson MO. For those of you not familiar, Branson is an touristy, entertainment community. Lots of live shows and shopping.

I went down on Friday night to see the folks from Larry's Country Diner - an interview/ music show on the RFD-TV network. I do promo for a lot of their guests. This particular night, they had Georgia native, Mark Wills. I love Mark's music and was thrilled with the opportunity to spend a few minutes with him, getting a brief interview.

Saturday I walked a bit of the 76 strip to a scrapbooking store - Scrapbook Forever. Shirley Heard has an amazing selection. Just about anything and everything you could want all in one place!

Here's a shot of my first purchase:

The 2 packages of brads are adorable. One has black old fashioned rotary dial phones and vintage fans. The other package contains bunnies! white ones as well as tan/ cream colored. Just too adorable to pass up. And her prices were AMAZING!

Yes, I said first purchase. After I'd paid for these I turned from the register to fall in love with these:

This was a small selection of SANTORO stamps. At $2.50 a piece, I just had to have several. $25 sounded like a nice round total LOL.

While I'm taking the month of May off from Social Media, I can not ditch our WOYWW group - not with our 7th anniversary only a couple of weeks away!

Bob is home so I will get around as best I can. We have stuff we need to deal with here.

I've been working hard on organizing the studio space. These two picks are from my stamping corner... where I can actually... wait for it... STAMP!

This first picture faces a west window. the tray in front of the window is all of my current StampinUp Ink colors - spots, reinkers and mister bottle. There are some that do not have spots but the new catalog has blank spot pads so I'll be ordering a bunch of those! You can see my full size ink pad rack on the right and my tv/ player unit on the left. Just above the TV is a shadow box of ATCs. This was a going away gift from my scrapbooking group and fellow employees at Michaels Arts & Crafts in Peoria IL when I left there 10 years ago. I'll shoot a close up it  next week.

This next picture is the desk to the left that you see in the first photo. This is my cutting station. My Vagabond and Cricut will be here once I've finished cataloging all of my SU cardstock.

I'm down to two weeks left to finish this studio and while I know I've made a dent (though a small one), I really am going to have to push if I'm to finish getting the studio in order by the time Bob comes home.

As you can see, everything I had sorted last week has been put away. Yay! 

My Journaling by 5s journal is on the left, waiting for this week's challenge. The red binder will become my Stampin Up catalog - my visual of everything that is current that I have... stamp sets, cardstock/ designer paper, inks. So as I'm ordering and planning projects for my SU blog, I know what I have to work with. There are some page protectors in the front to use and one of several boxes of SU stamp sets that I need to catalog. That is my project for today, as my kit arrives this afternoon.

Good morning, friends!

An overcast day in the Ozarks. A bit of rain here and there. I've been thinking of my Texas friends all week. I hope you all are safe.

My desk is a mass of sorted stuff. I have all this junk stuff sorted, ready for pocket pages. Then I took time to sort the pocket pages and put them in a binder so I could just flip through and get the pages I needed.... and that's as far as I got before business stuff kicked in. I should be done with the 'have to' biz today and can get back to the organizing/ putting away. I HAVE to have the office completed in three weeks. No pressure. :-D

To top it all off, I'm signing the paperwork today to become a hobby dem with Stampin' Up. Mostly, because I'm tired of my reps falling off the face of the earth and not getting catty's in a timely manner. I am planning on setting up a blog strictly for SU and will post there on Mondays only.

My desk this week isn't very exciting. Bob wound up leaving today instead of this past Monday so we had a couple extra days together to work in the yard.

The stencils are still in need of putting into the new Template and Stencil binder from Totally Tiffany. The flags you see on the right are her 'shut your flap' tabs used for securing the little flaps on the scrap rack page flaps - for those of us who tend to stuff them really full ;-)

The twine and the ink spot are from part of my Simon Says shopping trip with my GC from the February Tim Holtz tag. I went over my $25 but just had to splurge on a few things. (see pic below). I left the two items above out so I'd remember to email Mario and let him know there are no links on their inventory list to the Simon Says sight for those.

The picture above is my Tim Holtz splurge. I picked up some of the mini misters to go with inks I have plus added 4 new ink spots and the Paper Mosaic Kit he uses in his April tag. I need to see how weather proof that kit is. I'm thinking stepping stones for my fairie garden using paper scraps if they'll hold up to weather. Mario will know hehe

Last on my shopping spree was the flower border die used in the Easter card I told you about HERE.

And I've been on the hunt for a good 'egg' die that would cut multiple sizes.

My desk this week is a mess. I'm in the process of putting all of my stencils into this binder. I just was not happy with them in the ScrapRack. The last 2 wreath cards drying. The colored tabs are for the En Masse journal project. The new items this week - on the left is the box of old Papier Paints that I need to use up along with the composition journal that will be the Journaling By 5s journal. On the right you can just see what is the box with my wood wood burning tool. The white thing on top is the spot from my new watering can. The holes are really tiny. I think actual sprinkles from the sky would produce more water. 

My Journaling By 5s project begins this Friday and will run each Friday through the end of April. If you've not tried art journaling before, this is a great 'freeing' process that is all about  just getting something onto the page, using 5 key elements... and you can do a completed journal in TWO HOURS!

Good  morning, everyone. I took these pictures last night so I could have them up in a timely fashion. After two exhausting days of taking care of a stray and not getting much work done, I did not foresee anything happening tonight.

A bit on the tidy side but all the tools still out from our quarterly Virtual Stamp Night weekend at Splitcoast Stampers. Five challenges on Friday night then eight on Saturday. I only got 2 of the cards done. I spent the first part of the day totally clearing off the work table, washing it down then staging the area with all the things I'd need to make cards. I have this week to complete the challenges so am hoping to work a little each evening.  

The black bowls hold 2 different shades of green pine bough punch outs from Martha Stewart. One of the cards I made had a Christmas wreath on the front. I'll be showing that on Thursday.

The stamp pad is the new Gold Shine from Teresa Collins with Color Box. This pad is really juicy. Took a couple of scrubs to get the ink all off my stamp. What I fell in love with is that when you stamp with this ink then heat set it, you get about as close to an gold emboss look as you can get - without the embossing powder mess! She is going to be selling her new line through JoAnns Fabric and Crafts stores.

I had 4x6' of space to work on. You can just see the corner of my Vagabond in the lower left corner. And I always put my trimmer on a shelf liner. Keeps it from sliding around on the desk.

I was so not prepared for this morning. Woke up with a sinus headache. Went back to bed long enough for the dogs to start carrying on. A big black Angus cow was taking a stroll through my orchard. I do not have cows.  I let her wander on her merry way then decided I needed to get the day started.

Let's see... in the foreground is the cover of the En Masse journal. The brown paint started peeling up so I had to do some touch up work after I got the signatures stitched in. I ran some gesso over the stitching while I was priming the peeled areas.

Beyond that you'll see a couple of stamps and ink spots where I added inside goodness to a card before mailing yesterday.

The red and green bags beyond that?  This is Emergency Preparedness Week in Missouri. The green bag holds all of the items for our Emergency First Aid kit and the red is a backpack for the purpose.

Regardless of where you live, being prepared for the first 72 hours following a natural disaster is very important. Apologies for the late pic this morning. I've caught my husband's head cold... just in time to go see the Celtic Woman concert on Friday night. So I am doctoring six ways from Sunday so I can enjoy the performance.

My desk is a dumping ground this week. Saturday... the day before I caught this cold.... Bob stayed home to nurse his and I went shopping. I spent my Christmas gift card to Hobby Lobby from him and this is the result.

Burlap in various colors taking center stage. I can not bring myself to pay $3.99 for a few strips in the scrapbooking dept. when I can go over to fabric and buy a 1/4 of a yard for .99! I bought some red and some sage green for Christmas cards yet to be made as well as the neutral tones. You'll also see a black PIT pen balance on the folds as well as a white Galaxy marker. Next to the marker, are some 7Gypsies calendar tabs. I love using these as monthly tabs in my dayplanner. They seem to be clearancing them so any time I find a package I snatch it up.  Finally, on the left, are paint swatch/ idea booklets. Blame Shannon Green for that pick-up as you can see in her video below.

Late start to my morning so if you came by earlier and there was no picture, I apologize. I put the explanation link up ahead of time so all I have to do is snap and post. Some weeks it's easier than others LOL

This week my desk is a dumping ground from my shopping trip yesterday. The coupon organizers are for organizing my photos. I am determined to complete this part of the Scrap Rack Challenge. I always fall off the wagon when we get to Photos. The light blue is for pictures from concerts and interviews, orange for granddaughter Abigail and purple for granddaughter Adrian. Most of Adrian's are organized, I'm just going to fine-tune the sorting into the organizers. I also  bought the large index cards to use for dividers in the photo holders. Those organizers will fit in the photo boxes.

Those magazine holders were at $ Tree.

At Walmart I picked up a bonus pack of baby wipes to use with my mixed media, dental floss for journal binding and found daylight bulbs for my 2 task laps so hopefully I'll have better pictures. If you did not visit me on Monday, you can see the inside cover of my En Masse Journal cover.

Getting a late start this morning. We had high winds and snow blow through early this morning, taking out my internet. The snow has now stopped and almost all melted away but the wind is still blowing at a pretty good clip. 

While I waited, I worked on putting more of the Mixed Media side of the office in order in between working on my Tim Holtz revisit tag. This is from Day 2 - 2007. I should have this one ready to post on Friday.I have acetate snowflakes drying and the mottled blue tag base. That large SU paddle punch did not want to turn loose of the acetate snowflake but the Martha Stewart one was a dream. I think partly due to less intricacy in the detail.

And now that the Mixed Media side is shaping up, I should be able to get back to working with various art journals. Those will make an appearance on the occasional Mixed Media Mondays.

For those of you who stopped by last week, this is how the raffle basket for the writer's banquet turned out. My theme was 'Celebrate!' A bottle of Merlot, two wine glasses filled with Hershey kisses, a Dark Chocolate bar and two party horns. I upcycled a box that 7x9 padded manila envelopes come in by cutting it down at an angle and covering in left-over monochromatic white wrapping paper. What isn't here is the Merlot colored ribbon around the neck bottle and as a belly band on the front of the box.

My worktable this week looks as if the high winds we had earlier in the week went through my studio. I've been working on my February Tim Holtz tag. After three attempts, I'm finally making progress. I hope to post that tomorrow.

I chose to do two different cards, allowing me to use both of the stamp sets from Studio G (See Blog Candy Post).

This first one showcases the Friends Forever set. Because these are clear stamps, I was able to over- stamp the front and back tires of the bicycle (without using the Stamp-a-ma-jig) to create a Bicycle Built For Two. I paired Stampin' Up Poppy Parade (retired) with a background sheet from Colorbok- Rosewood. Thanks to my husband's way of looking at things, I combined two of the small tear-drop blings from Studio G to create the heart in the upper right- hand corner. A bit of sparkly lace from my vintage stash anchored the image mat. I stamped the sentiment in Poppy Parade.

For my second card, I followed my vintage style. Using the image elements from Keys to My Heart (my name - not theirs) from Studio G, I stamped each with VersaMark then embossed using either Black or Detail Gold (Stampendous) embossing powders. I punched out the heart then cut out the lock opening with the exacto knife. The keys are held in place at the top with a small jump ring then secured with micro-glue dots. When doing vintage cards one of my favorite punches is this lace corner punch from EK Success. The keys are matted on SU Cherry Cobbler, inserted into the SU Very Vanilla frame then anchored onto another piece of Cherry Cobbler.

The base papers are from the Colorbok - Rosewood slab. (Can you tell I LOVE that slab?) I used a background section from one of the rose pages combined with a strip of an all- over background piece of a tone-on-tone KEY image. Yep, just made for this project.  The lace is from my vintage stash (AMAZING what you find at auctions!). The three peals in the corner are from SU.
