WOYWW #504

First off, for those of us who think it's cold where we are, (I have 13*F at the moment but not sure of the wind chill) My husband is on a tug boat in Chicago and was kind enough to share his temperatures with me via Text:

-21* F
Feels like -49*F

While this may look staged, it really isn't. I've just tossed my planners on the filming desk in preparation for a video I need to film this morning.  Beyond that you'll see my Stampin' UP! trash can on top of my Stampin' UP! planner on the left. O the left you'll see punches I was using to punch out icons for one of my planers, tissues, the pencil holder and paper scraps.

Those paper scraps are actually left over pieces from sticker sheets that I've punched stickers from. I can use the smaller pieces to stamp individual words on with Staz On and use on mixed media pages.  I'm only keeping what will fit in a small 12-sectioned bead box I got at $ Tree.

For those of you who are planners, I've taken part in a Planner Babe Tag on YouTube.  I'm linking it if you want to check out my first on-camera video. :-)

That's it for my desk this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground  for all the details. Miss Julia has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.  Please leave your number and you'll be among the first on my list.

WOYWW #503

I apologize for coming late to the party. I took the picture then got right to work. Didn't even think about getting the blog post up. I was focused on wanting to complete 1 project today.

Bob left yesterday. Not sure how long he will be gone this trip. He said he's going to work as many days as they'll let him. In the meantime, I'll spend my days trying to get caught up and on track around here.  Here's my desk for today:

I'm working on re-dating my garden planner from last year. I didn't use the planner as much as I'd hoped. Mostly because the weather just got too darned hot to want to be out in the garden. LOL Can't be the case this year. I should have my summer gardener (oldest granddaughter) to keep me motivated :-)

WOYWW 502

Well, we have crossed the 500 mark in style... or should that be sty for me. My desk is still a mess. Has not changed since pre Week 500.

For the past week I've had to focus on getting my 2019 planners up and running. This is a slow process with Bob home. We spend lots of time together - as it should be. I wouldn't want to spend my time without him. He has been a real gem at finding things to do in his man cave for hours while I try to get caught up. I've filmed two planner videos this week.

You'll find them on m y YouTube channel: https://bit.ly/2RvOAYC

I hope to get to everyone this week. I have a new tracking system. I'll show a picture next week.

So here's my 'desk' this morning:

This is actually my filming table over in the stamping corner. I'm making use of a vintage typewriting table I bought almost 20 years ago at an auction for $1. Bob says, what are you going to do with that. Well, this precious piece of history has floated from activity to usage before finding a forever home as my filming table.
The paper covering is getting replaced. After losing my piercing tool under the edge of the board that sits on top of the table, (found btw), I'm having Bob cut me a board the full length of the table when the leaves are up. I'm on the hunt today for a piece of patterned laminate that will be both camera friendly as well as easy to clean. This decision came after I managed to put a piece of sticky paper upside down on the work surface and trash the paper covering. I need something I can take acetone to when I do silly things like that. My big worktable is covered in a laminate counter top. So easy to clean with a spritz of window cleaner or in worse case scenarios like glue/ adhesive - acetone to the rescue.

FRIDAY FREEBIE - Planner Bag

Isn't this the cutest bag! I found the bag as I was walking through Bass Pro a couple of weeks ago and knew the size and configuration was perfect for the sticker books and other planner supplies I've been acquiring. My plan is to run away from home once a week and sit somewhere to do my forward planning for the week. I just need that quiet time away from the house to enjoy a coffee or a frosty and plan. I know from experience if I try to do the planning at home, it never gets done. So that is part of my focus for 2019. To MAKE time to do my planning so that things will actually get done.

So for my first Friday Freebie of 2019, I have a video giving you a close-up look at the bag and what I'm storing inside. I hope you enjoy!

WOYWW #500!

WOW! Week # 500  Really?  Yep. While I've not been around that long, I do thank Silverwolf for introducing me to this fabulous group. I've made many friends around the globe.. both near and far.

Today, I put everything out there for the world to see. I've been so busy with Holiday stuff and spending time with Bob that I've not spent any time at all in the studio. I have a writing retreat this weekend and a doctor appt. for Bob after that so I don't see this changing much in the next 10 days.

What a way to kick off a new year, eh?

I hope your desk is tidier than mine. If not, at least we're in good company

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I can't believe we are saying 2019! I have great plans to get back to creating more this year and I hope you'll come along for the journey and share your creativity, too.

I had planned to start the blog posts tomorrow but Bob is still home and he is trying to get some medical appointments taken care of before he goes back out. Those trips require near full days with travel/ appointment/ lunch. Ugh. One even has required an overnight to the big city.  That means I'm not getting the creating done ahead of a writing retreat I have the 3-6.  So my plan now is to spend the week following the retreat to get items made and scheduled on the blog beginning Monday January 14th. I do hope to get a video done of my Happy Planner Miss Maker planner that I will be using to keep me on track with challenges. If all goes well, that will air tomorrow. (I'm writing this on the 30th as we prepare for that overnight. I just don't know if I'll have time to get the video filmed before we have to leave in a few hours.)

One exception is I will be here on January 2nd. for WOYWW! We are crossing the 500th Week of visiting other artistic folks around the globe. Our doors and hearts are open to show what we've been up to and there is always room for new folks. I hope you will join us!

I hope you are jumping in to 2019 with both feet and full of creativity!
