CARD CHICKS! - 10-Minute Tuesday!

 Good morning, crafty friends!

I'm combining this with my 10-minute Tuesday. Seriously, when you have a kit in front of you it's easy to pull a sketch card idea and run with it.

This month's kit came from TerrySeaman. She's been a card chick member longer than I have. She put together a fun kit:

The  image is from Taylored Expressions called 'Mane Event'. All the images were stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth using Memento Tucedo Black ink.

The designer series paper is Pebbles happy horray, party animal, candy shoppe with American Crafts balloons.  Enamel dots are Pebbles Sprinkles, The Paper Shoppe red/ yellow/ green

The ribbon is Celebrate it red polka dot, SU Tangerine, Offray Blue Polka Dot. She also included a small 'action wobble' to add a bit of movement.

While these cards were do last week, I just wasn't getting any crafting in. Even if I had, I doubt I'd have gotten it uploaded to either the group, my Splitcoast Gallery or done the YouTube video.

Here's the video in how the card came together:

MONTHLY CHALLENGE - Flashback to February 2019

Since I was sick all last week, not a lot of crafting got done. Seriously, I took four days to put (2) 100-light strings of lights on the Halloween tree for the Halloween Tree Challenge coming up on Friday.

Someone asked in one of Julie's morning videos chats about using fabric in our journals. I mentioned that my very first journal with Dear Julie Julie was the February Fabric Junk Journal Challenge. I had trouble uploading the flip-through video so never showed the final product. I thought this was a good time to do that.

If you were with me way back then (hehe) you may have seen THIS blog post. So give a quick read then enjoy the video.

Stampin' Up! SUNDAY - Halloween Decor!

I apologize for the lack of posts all last week. By Saturday evening I had a bit of a scratchy throat that by Sunday had turned in to a full-blown sinus infection. As I type this on Sunday afternoon (today), I am able to function with DayQuil and am beginning to feel human again. I still have a few days to go I think before I can do this without meds but I have to get back to work!

Today's video is a reproduction of an item in the Holiday mini catalog - pg 52. Don't have a catalog? You can view on line HERE. You can also request a catalog by using the contacting me on Instagram @KellysCreativeDreams.

Between not having shot a video in a week and being sick, I'm a bit shaky but I really like how this project turned out. I hope you'll give it a try.

SHOUT OUT SATURDAY with #SPECTRUM ART & Happy Mail!

 Good morning, crafty friends!

49* this morning in my part of the Ozarks. I have to wonder how much longer my garden will last at this rate. I think I'm ready to pull up, let go and start prepping the ground for next spring.

Today is Shout Out Saturday.

I had to laugh after I did the video. I did not red the note from Madi at Spectrum Art until after I'd done my reveal in the video, stating that y'all needed to check out her channel and that I would have a link in the description box!

I read the card that said if I did 3 things I would go into a monthly drawing for $10 to spend in her shop!

1 - #SPECTRUMART in the subject line

2 - Show off my purchase

3- Link to her channel.

I'll let you know if I win or not. The end of the month isn't that far away! Wait til you see what I got fromm her shop this time!!

So here's the video with the items from Madi as well as the AWESOME happy mail from my friend, Darlene Cave in Canada. I am so blessed!

Here's the video:

I will see you back here tomorrow for Stampin' Up! Sunday. We are making a simple piece of Halloween Decor. Did I mention I was ready for fall? hehe

DESIGN TEAM THURSDAY - Introduction

 Goodmorning, crafty friends!

Last spring I was invited to join Dear Julie Julie's design team. I was thrilled and up to the challenge, except that was about the time the studio was in major topsy turvey as I'd just moved everything out to begin the deep clean/ re-organization.

I'm finally in a place where I can get to projects using her beautiful kits. Today's video is a bit of an introduction about what is expected and what I'll be working on the rest of this month.

10-MINUTE TUESDAY - Teapotter's Card

Good morning, crafty friends!

Today I'm launching the 10-minute Tuesday series. Does this mean we'll make a card in 10 minutes? Probably not, but we will come close.

Through this series I'll show you some tips and tricks for putting a card together quickly.

Remember, a card doesn't have to be intricate or fancy. The sentiment from both your heart and what you put in the card is what truly matters.

For the purpose of videos, I will always be a week behind for Teapot Tuesday. That mean's that today's card was last week's call out.

Harold was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He and his wife Paula are shocked and saddened. So we're sending cards of encouragement with a big Texas feel. They live in Conroe, TX.

Here is my video for today:

If you'd like to join us in sending uplifting cards to Harold and Paula, you can see the information here on Splitcoast Stampers.

MONTHLY CHALLENGE MONDAY! - Pink Ribbon

 Good morning, crafty friends!

Every Monday I'll bring you up to date on the current Monthly Challenge with DearJulieJulie.

This month we are busting our stash of supplies to create a journal. I'm working on my Pink Ribbon journals that I want to put in the shop by the end of the month.

When I first started this journal, I had planned to purchase a Pink Ribbon digital kit from Etsy. Then I got an idea - I'd make my own background paper!!

In today's video I show you how to create simple background pages using stamps, stencils and inks. Come play along!

 Good morning, crafty friends!

I hope your Sunday is going well.  Today I'm bringing you a video showcasing some great items from the Stampin' Up! Clearance you won't want to miss as well as a peek at some of the things I picked up at the Local Scrapbooking Store close-out.

Many have already asked to see the papers more in detail. I'll get them sorted out this week and bring you a closer look at those in the Friday Freebie video.

For now, let's see what I hauled this week!

YOUTUBE- Shout Out Saturday + Video

 Good morning, crafty friends.

Here's this week's Shout Out Saturday video. I also share a quick flip through of the August Assembly Line Junk Journal Challenge.

NOTE: There will be a short video coming soon showing JUST the journal. I'll need a better video for the Etsy shop. I also failed to have the tassel on this journal. They tassels were made for all three journals, I just failed to attach one to this journal.

Tomorrow is a double haul video.

1 - Stampin' Up! (mostly clearance items you might want to grab)

2 - Paper and Sizzix die haul from local scrapbooking store going out of business.

I hope you'll stop back by!

ONLY MINOR CHANGES TO COME

 Good morning, crafty friends!

I told you on Monday I'd be bringing you up to date as to what I want to do here. Really, not a lot is changing.

For my creative business I will be showcasing things on Instagram, YouTube and this blog. A few things will also be in my gallery on Splitcoast Stampers - kind of a cross-polination thing if you will.

So here's the 'new' line-up:

MONDAY

Monthly Challenge - I'll showcase progress on the Monthly Challenges with DearJulieJulie and Pam's Paper Outpost (I need to REALLY catch up there!)

TUESDAY

Teapot Tuesday (SCS), CardChicks (SCS the 21st), Tip/ Technique (Possibly Paper Outpost items)

WEDNESDAY

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. I have really missed my friends at Julia's Stampin' Ground! This will give me the opportunity to show you not only my worksurface but what I have in progress

THURSDAY

This one is changing. I will be devoting Thursdays to Design Team stuff so that Julie knows where I'm posting those things.

FRIDAY

This will still be Friday Freebie but with a couple of minor changes. I'll be showing what I'm working on but for the most part, Monthly Challenge items will remain on Mondays. You just don't know what will show up here. hehe

SATURDAY

Shout Out Saturday and something to play with

SUNDAY

Stampin' Up! Sunday will remain. Some days the focus will be on cards but also could be a scrapbook layout or other fun project.

The only thing that may alter the Schedule is for Reindeer Club on the 25th of each month.

On a quick note, I was supposed to have a video today but I just could not get things to come together yesterday. The Final flip-through of the August journal will be combined with Shout Out Saturday, tomorrow.  Thank you for your patience.

HITTING RESET - Good Changes Coming!

Today's post is all about that big red button. Kind of reminds me of Red Nose Day from Walgreens.

I've sat for over six months,  not doing much of anything. Not even completing most of the journals I have started through Julie's challenges. Why?

Well, the reason finally came to me last weekend. I haven't been using my blog/ editorial boards or my planners since the end of February... when I started the reorganization of the studio/ office.

I am a VERY visual person. Even during my days of selling Christmas Around the World, House of Lloyd and Undercover Wear whenever there was a promotion, I would buy a sheet of poster board and create a chart to track my progress towards a goal.

Saturday, I pulled out mynotepad and decided there were changes to be made.

1- work only with blogs that bring me joy.
I had six blogs. I made the definitive decision to close the Living Through Weightloss.
I find being motivated hard on the blog when there are no responses to posts... and only a hand full of readers. I thought that through my journey I could inspire others. I've gotten to the point where my time is too valuable for something that is not having any affect on me or others. As of today, that blog will be closing by end of the month - with the last post being today.

2 - Still In Debate
I started the Ozarks Journal blog back when I first met the Polish Sinfonia and needed a place to post pictures from the grade school students so that the orchestra members could all go look at them. I still like the blog idea but I'm making a couple of changes.
I want to keep talking about prepping, my garden and household. I was talking 'household' on the weightloss blog, after all a clean house does make for a better self-journey but something in me decided I could keep the household with the Ozarks Journal. I mean, I LIVE in the Ozarks. LOL So OJ will be more about my corner of the Ozarks and our home here.

3- Staying on Task
This required evaluating what I really want to do.
I want to write
I want the Etsy shop or some other sales form to destash my stuff and let it bring joy to others.
For that reason, I am putting a more solid YouTube stream in place, getting my shop open and keeping THIS blog but with a few changes. I'll be talking about those on Friday.

4 - More time to craft and to write.
I still have book series I want/ need to write. I'm starting back to a regular writing schedule next week. Hopefully, by the time Bob comes home I will have a routine where even if I only take thirty minutes, the words will flow.

Overall Goals
To create beautiful things while destashing our home
To stay more on Task
To write more books
To have a financial plan in place that has the house paid off in two years.

I'm not saying these goals will be easy, but with visuals in place  I have a much better shot

I'm spending the rest of this week getting posts written/ scheduled, batch-recording videos and putting the office back together from company last week.
I will see you back here on Friday (September 11 to talk about the new schedule and give you a final flip-through of my Ausgust Assembly Line Junk Journal Challenge journal.

until then...
