FRIDAY FREEBIE - #JJJC2

Good morning, everyone!  Happy Friday!!

Today, I'm doing the final flip-through of the January Just Junk Journal Challenge 2 with Dearjuliejulie.

I wasn't sure at first if I was going to enjoy this journal but after Bob gave me a pair of his jeans I saw a vision for what I wanted the journal to be... and its use.

A lot of people ask, what do you use a junk journal for? The answer is simple:

Whatever you would use a journal for... to write in, document, keepsakes.

For me, this journal will go with me as I travel the Ozarks this summer. There is so much history in these hills and I intend to find as much of that history and preservation as I can. I'll make notes, tuck in pictures and brochures along the way.

You can follow that journey, once I begin, at An Ozarks Journal

I'll be back Monday to share our challenge specifics for Febuary!

In the mean time, here's the video:

MIXED MEDIA MONDAY - Video Flip Through

You would thing being up at 2 a.m., I would remember to upload a video. Well.. Not so much.

I talked to Bob on the phone for an hour since he was nearing the end of his shift and had some down time. I worked on cutting the papers down for my signatures for the main journal for the January Just Junk Journal Challenge #2 and put my Stampin' Up! paper order away - finally.

The video will go up tomorrow since I have to do that between 2 a.m. & 6 a.m. for faster speed. Go figure! LOL

In the mean time, here are pics of the items for Mini Challenges in the Challenge #1, #2, #3 & #4

#1
Use:
    A napkin
    A stamp or stencil
    Junk from our kit
    Garment

I didn't get this one done on time because I didn't have any garment I was planning to get rid of! Where was this challenge last spring when I took 4 bags of clothes to the thrift store?  Bob donated a pair of his jeans the week after the challenge.
I also failed to stamp or stencil on these items. Since I didn't meet the challenge deadline anyway, I'm not going to worry about it. I like them the way they are. The bottom left has a pocket.. edged with the denim and the one on the right is a flip out made form Stampin' Up! bling packaging.

#2
Make a mini journal.
Use:
     7 envelopes
     3 cards
     1 digital sheet
1 full sheet and 1 scrap of scrapbook paper
     Binding kit.

This is the cover. I used a packet of square envelopes/ cards. I don't know why I had them. They are too expensive to mail here in the USA. Good use for them. The scrapbook paper is from SU - Share What You Love and the digital page is from Dearjuliejulie - Tiny Houses in her etsy shop.

We were only to make the mini journal and the cover. I was decorating the whole thing! So I have a second one to add to my big journal after the challenge is complete.

#3
Decorating the mini.
Make:
    1 Guest check
    2 Tags
    3 Pges in the Journal
    4 Journaling Cards
    2 flat Paper Clips

Each of those items must include:
    digi or magazine image
    washi tape
Any item from #2 mini challenge kit
Any item from main challenge list

Rogue items:
   3 punches
   2 doilies
  10 bling
   7 stickers
   fingernail polish or stickles (1)

I chose not to use bling on my items but since they were rogue, they weren't mandatory.
The very top and the bottom right are journaling cards turned into flips. The 2 paper clips are on the top row, tags and guest check in the center.  Again, I used Tiny Houses. The journaling card bases were from The Paper Studio

From the left over pieces of scrapbooking papers I used the Blossom Builder punch from Stampin' Up!

#4
Stack A Sticker:
Ues:
1 sheet of sticker labels for bases
    music sheet
    digital image
Bling or puffy - can use up to 10

My sticker sheet came from $Tree and had 3 labels per sheet. I used tea-dyed music paper, Tiny Houses digi and the puffy stickers from Stampin' Up!

I'll get the video uploaded in the morning and post it below.

Next Monday there will be a flip through of the compelted January Just Junk Journal Challenge 2 plus I'll tell you what the criteria is for the February challenge.

Creative Blessings!

Image by Marleen Kuiper from Pixabay

So what is Reindeer Club.. and why am I a day late posting this?

Well, for starters... I uploaded a video to my YouTube channel on time yesterday.. just failed to post over here. Keep in mind, I recorded the video 3 different times before seeing the big screen LOL

Basically, Reindeer Club is doing something on or around the 25th of every  month that will bring you closer to a stress-free Christmas.  Check out the video below for all the details:

What projects would you like to have done BEFORE Christmas? What could you do a little bit of every month that would make your Christmas less stressful?

If you could have ONE THING on your To Do List done before Christmas, what would you do? Let me know in the comments below.

Merry Christmas!

FRIDAY FREEBIE & News

I'm slowly getting back in the flow. I made two cards  yesterday.
I really wanted to make a card a day... well, we see how that went. Mostly because all I've done is work on the studio. Yes, still. But I'm making progress.

Today, I'm showcasing the cards I made form our January Card Chicks kit at SplitcoastStampers.\

Roxy Weaver was our hostess this month and sent a fabulous collection of goodies to play with. Aside from an SU snowflake charm in the bits, she included two snowflake dies! Incredibly generous. She also said if we didn't have a die cutting machine, we were welcome to gift the dies.
I have a Tim Holtz sidekick and Vagabond but I gave my sister a sidekick for her birthday. Her dies are very limited so I shared them with her.

You'll note something missing in one of the cards. Please tell me in the comments if you spot my 'forgot'.

Here are the two cards:

The images are from Deep Red Stamps. I'd not heard of that company before but I've provided a link. Just click on their name.

Since I'd gifted my snowflake dies, I used one from SU Colorful Seasons. The paper is SU - Let It Snow. They suggest Coastal Cabana for the blue but I wanted to color the sweater in the same color but didn't have CCin Stampin' Blends. I switched to Pool Party and I think the colors match very well.

Tomorrow is the 25th. On the 25th of the month, regardless of the day it falls on, I will be showcasing something Christmas - called Reindeer Club. There will be a project I'm working on as well as a coordinating video.  Come on back for hot cocoa and all things Christmas!

WOYWW #555

Good morning, friends!

After challenges this morning, I look forward to your smiling faces :-)

Slightly different perspective. I've cleaned off most of the work table and have moved the laptop over here. This height is much easier on my back for long hours at the computer. I'm still doing most of my crafting at the filming table I showed you last week.

I spent all day yesterday cataloging embossing folders I've acquired over the pasts two years. Only 1 duplicate!!! Yeah, I'm amazed, too LOL

today I have to color code the catalog samples then that task will be done.
To the left of the laptop you'll see my mini trash can. Behind that DVD cases in their book stand. Each one holds embellishments from SU. I'm going to put the embellishment sheets in A5 page protectors in a small binder to keep over at the crafting table. 1 binder will take up much less room. I think that holder is going to be repurposed to keep my planners at the ready here by the laptop.

That's it for my desk this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground  for all the details. Miss Julia has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.  Please leave your number and you'll be among the first on my list.

MIXED MEDIA MONDAY - What's inside my #JJJC2 kit?

Good morning, friends!

Wow... I've missed you guys.
I've been doing a serious deep cleaning/ reorganizing of the studio. I know, seems to be a never-ending process but for good reason this time.

Since I've made the decisioin to revert back to a Hobby Dem with Stampin' Up! I don't need 'current' supplies at hand. My main purpose in the decision was for me to get back to playing with ALL of my toys without worrying about whether or not they were currently available or new.

My main goal is to get everything off of the big work table so that I have that surface available for big projects. Things like my granddaughters' quilts, constructing junk journals or packing Etsy orders.

I've nearly cleared the surface. I have a few more small things to integrate into the general populace today and possibly tomorrow then the work table is DONE!

Okay.. what about today's post?
Well, this post kicks off my second year as a member of Dearjuliejulie's junk journal challenges. I began watching her last January but didn't begin playing until February. That creative woman opened up the Pandora's Box of junk journaling for me. I've always wanted to do junk journals just didn't know how to start. Now I don't know if I can stop! LOL

Today's video shows you some of the items in my kit for the #JJJC2.

A quick note - my YouTube channel isn't just about junk journals. I'm covering a wide scope of all the things I like to dip my fingers in to. I think there will be something for just about every creative avenue you may be living on.
Please go to my YouTube channel and subscribe. I'm almost to my first 100 subscribers!

Thanks for watching! Creative Blessings

WOYWW # 554

Good morning, deskers!  I've missed you all so much but I really needed time to put my studio to rights. While the studio still isn't organized, there have been a few changes. I'll be sharing those at a later time.
\
For now... this is my new desk/ work location. My filming table has become my work space. I do everything from here. The usual desk items including my new carousel utility bag and my new craft planner to the far right. I'll be doing a video on that soon so if you want to see the inside, let me know. I will tell you the planner is made from an altered book.

I'm taking the rest of this week to dive in more now that my distraction has gone back out on the boat until Feb. 12th.  Next week I'm back to work full-time with a whole new line up for this blog as well as getting my Etsy shop ready for opening on Feb. 1st. Stay tuned!

That's it for my desk this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground  for all the details.
