WOYWW #253 - A Secondary Workspace

This is my work space this. If you want to see what my actual table looks like, I'm still buried under Project Life. You can see that post HERE if you missed my amazing shopping trip. I hope to have it organized this weekend.  I've been working on the dining room table for a couple of weeks. Don't really have enough room on the studio desk to spread all three of these composition books out anyway.

I have 34 pages left to gesso. Then I can FINALLY put my Documented Life Project together. I'm so excited to start working IN  the Documented Life Planner instead of pages that are here and there. I figure I'll have a month or so to determine if I want to work with this style of planner on a regular basis. If so, I can start now on gessoing next year's planner pages.

Most artists have more exciting desks than mine to look at. So head over to Julia's at StampingGround where you will find a whole list of bloggers ready to welcome you in. Julia can explain what I'm talking about.

    1. been more fun if I'd not left the checkbook at home :-D And after the security issue with Michaels I won't use my credit card. I NEVER use my debit card at any place other than the bank atm

    1. Think of Gesso as a primer - Kilz if you will. With Gesso as a base, you can allow literally ANY paper to accept any medium you want to use. You can watercolor on notebook paper, for instance.

  8. That looks like a mammoth project, Kelly. I agree, you do need ot feel the wind and the spray for yourself. However, I was not prepared to expose my camera for any longer than that, and I was very tired from packing and then driving on my own. It is the longest journey I have done since Geoff died last year, and the final part of the journey was unknown and in the fog not very pleasant. I go to the B&B at 4.00pm and basically went straight to bed. My favourite place is down in Cornwall, in a spot where you can sit on the rocks and just let the sound of the waves wash away all the tensions of life. xx Maggie

  9. Well, Kelly, I think your page looks VERY exciting - so much so that I followed your link about the Documented Life Project to see what it was all about, and this took me to other sites too. It looks like a fascinating project. I would love to do something like this but because of my health issues and other things in my life I simply don't have the opportunity to spend the required amount of time in my ARTHaven keeping up with it all! I had considered doing a monthly tag project with the tags fitting in a sort of year-book album but it hasn't come to anything this year... Always too many ideas and never enough time to do them all!!!

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. Yes, those kitties know a thing or two. They know not to try it on with me because my heart is flint when it comes to tidbits and my hubby is a Well Known Soft Touch lol lol!! As for the nappy liners, I'm well into frugal/recycling mode these days and love experimenting with things, especially stuff that would get thrown away. I rescued some plastic meat trays the other day because they have a nice embossed pattern on the bottom that will make good texture!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  11. Looks like you had fun shopping. It's good you have another table you can use while you put away everything else. Can't wait to see what you are making. I don't know anything about "Documented Life Project" so I may have to look it up. Hope you have a great time with it.
