WOYWW #272 - Purging

THE BEGINNING OF THE END

My workstation is a bit different this week. I have something in the works that's very Hush Hush for now. But I HAVE to go through a ton of stuff in the studio and sewing room and PURGE - A LOT

This is a stack (including the tub) of magazines I've been saving for the sole purpose of cutting out things for art journals. I want to file the images in pockets of my scraprack for easy access... but that's another post.

So over the next couple of weeks, this is my desk(s) for the time being.

THE CUTTING TABLE
Positioned in front of the TV so I can get some things off the DVR while I purge. The Lobster notebook in the picture is where I've been taking notes from the series Deadliest Catch for a future set of books I have in mind. I didn't have any 'crab' paper but this lobster from 'Beach House' by The Paper Studio serves the purpose... aka being able to find the right notebook when I need it. LOL

These are the 3 areas where I have 'category' papers scattered about. As I cut out a bunch of pictures/ words/ phrases, I sort them to an appropriate category. I will store them in pocket pages when I get my scraprack. In the meantime, I am storing them in page protectors with their category sheet.

So why am I sharing this all with you? Because this is what we do every Wednesday as part of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday with Julia Dunnit at Stamping Ground. Everyone can play so come join the FUN! Details HERE.

What's on YOUR desk?

  7. busy, busy, busy! I love to be organized too but seems like Karma keeps coming around and messing it up! Thanks for visiting my desk and leaving a comment. You asked about the orange tree on the box. It is a white bottle brush tree I bought at Micheal's last year after Christmas...huge bag was originally $19.99 but I got it for less then $2. (thats what I mean about Karma...needed one and bought a bunch!) I sprayed the tree with Dylusions Ink and let it dry. I thought about using alcohol ink to make it permanent but I don't plan on it getting wet so it should be okay. Have a great week. Vickie #64

    1. Thanks, Vickie. Yeah, I don't think I'd have passed up that deal either. I may try with the alcohol inks then, just because I'll have them. Creative Blessings!

  8. Oh dear, you are going to do what I should be doing and you are really going to town over it. Well done for taking the plaunge, you will probably feel really good when you have finished and shown us all the notebooks.
Thanks for visiting me, you are right, a few days avoiding it all and I have got my enthusiasm back, but no time at the moment.

    1. I've determined I can not create in chaos, Brandi. I think part of that comes from my mom teaching me to clean the kitchen before we started any baking/ canning/ cooking project.

    1. One thing I've never had the urge to do. But then I do like the way mine are stored and I do love the feel of a wood block in my hands. Though I do have some acrylics I love too
