WOYWW #196

Okay.. I decided to jump in. I just couldn't wait until April. If you don't know what I'm doing.. it's Whats On Your Work Desk Wednesday. You can get the scoop at Julia's Stamping Ground. You might not think my desk looks very bad ... and it doesn't. Except I can't do any creating right now. Until I get a cushion made for my new desk chair, I'm having to do all of my computer work at my stamping table. And I've not had time to make the cushion so I could work at the desk because I've been busy working at this desk. LOL Don't you just hate vicious circles!

When not creating, I am a writer by trade. For two more weeks most of my writing time is taken up with promoting the artists in the Texas Music Awards coming up on March 23rd. THEN I can get back to dividing my time between work and play... though playing is usually work-related. There's that vicious circle again.

Okay... the notebook to the left is where I'm keeping track of what I do each day. The tax man likes accountability. My laptop is front and center then my single-serve 'only one can on the occasion' Pepsi sits close at hand. You can see the new metal embellishments sitting just to the back of the power chord. I just picked those up at Michaels last week. I'm sure they'll find their way into an art journal.

And as a constant reminder I WILL be back to playing soon, all of my stickles and tools are in my line of sight every time I look up from the screen.

I hope everyone has a creative week!
Blessings
Kelly

  2. Oh that tax man does insist on so much and don't I know it. I to run my own business and it makes it hard sometimes.

Now my drawers on the right of my desk I covered with KaiserCraft papers a month ago if you go back through my blog posts you will see it done. I store my tools, pens, pencils and other bits n bobs that I use on a regular basis. I also have a matching item on the desk on the other side which holds other stuff that you can see too. I covered it all with Lush paper a beautiful set.

I love the line up of stickles that you have, I saw those containers at the craft fair last weekend but I use timber blocks for mine.

    Thanks for visiting

    1. Hi Eliza. Thanks for stopping by. My stickles holder is modeled after the ones you've seen at the craft fair. They are sections of PVC pipe (1.5" diameter)plugged into holes drilled in a strip of 2x2 board. I LOVE it. I'll come back and check out your storage soon.

  8. I have had to resort to lists and timetables to give myself permission to craft. I am retired but there are still so many demands on our time, and the vile weather over the last 18 months has not helped. You seem to be so well organised, and just need to get that cushion done. I am sure the tax man would consist that a legitimate expense in time, money and effort. Thank you for your visit and have a great week of crafting. xx Maggie #37

  9. Isn't it interesting when you stumble across someone who shares many of your ideas! For example, art, creating, music, the love of words and things mystical....yep, that's pretty much me too....oh, and logs...LOLOL!!
I don't papercraft at all, though many have tried to convert me...it's fabric and yarn all the way for me. Though until two years ago, I hadn't sewn since my teens. I love playing around with colour and the instant gratification of making something reasonably quickly. I don't do fussy either...or make lists, I'm afraid...I'm a fly by the seat of my pants sorta gal!
Thanks for dropping by, it was good to meet you!

    1. Thanks for the earlier visit and welcome to the world of WOYWW. Hope you do find time to drop by again - great way for making friends. Don't think I have seen a professional writer there but hopefully you will introduce us all to a new craft.
Just a tip, with you having so many blogs it is especially helpful if you put your number behind your name when commenting. Hope you don't mind me mentioning it.
