WOYWW #205 - Room to Play!

It's WOYWW - aka snooping other people's work areas to see what they're up to. The tour is directed by the multi-talented Julia Dunnit. You can read about our journey at Stamping Ground.

Yep, as you can see from a couple of previous posts I've had room and time to play. My task for today (or tomorrow - which ever day the rain moves in and I can't be on-line) I am behind in some cards. A friend of mine graduates from college this weekend.  I totally spaced it, which is sad because Sal has worked so hard to earn his teaching degree. He's going to be AWESOME!

I also belong to a local (state) group called ShowMeStampers. We started as a Missouri group of stampers. Some of us have moved out of state but are still a part of the group. We do a lot of things one of which is, if we choose to participate, is we are each assigned someone on our list to send a card to. Just some happy mail amongst the mountain of bills and junk. I've not reciprocated a single time this year because my studio has been such a disaster. This is month 5. So I have at least 5 cards to get done. I'm hoping for more as I'll not get any crafting time except with Adrian once the girls get here Memorial Day weekend.

So here's my desk:

The printouts are of cards off my Pinterest board - Paper Playhouse - that I want to make. I got them off so I could craft even if I couldn't get on-line. There are about 30 samples there.

I'm so excited to be playing on a regular basis again! Can't wait to see your spots. Weather permitting I'll be cruising your spaces.

Creative Blessings!
Kel

    1. Hi Lynette. Mine doesn't go out. I unplug all of my computer stuff. My sister has lost stuff way too many times because she fails to do that. My computer is my job... I can't be without LOL

    1. LOL By now I'm sure you know I can only work in a clean space. The area doesn't stay clean long, but messing everything up is part of the fun! Creative blessings!

    1. Hey Lottie! Happy Mail always seems to arrive when someone needs it the most. For Pinterest, I limit myself to the main page in the morning with my 1 c of coffee. Then if there's time after work is done, I might cruise the craft forum. Hugs!

  7. Hi Kelly, sometime life just gets in the way and the less urgent stuff has to take a back seat ... hope you find a bit of time to make those cards some time soon. It's a lovely idea to send happy mail ... like you say, it makes a change from all the bills and the junk mail that keeps the postie busy. I have a Pinterest account but never have time to do anything with it - life gets in the way :) However, I'm always finding inspiration in the blogs I check out. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #53

PS: we are fortunate to have the Robert Burns Heritage Centre on our doorstep here in Ayr - a great place to while away an hour or two. In fact, Burns seems to have got around quite a bit in his short life and left a lasting impression wherever he went, so much so that there is an amazing number of museums and places he was associated with in some way in Ayrshire, Dumfriesshire and Edinburgh - it would take the most ardent of Burns fans to find time to visit them all :)

    1. If I were to cross the pond, Elizabeth I'd make time to see them all. The man had an amazing way with words. Pinterest is my Coffee Routine in the morning and often again at night before bed. I only hit the front page. I have acquired enough followers... and follow them that a lot of my interests show on the cover page. Come join me some time!

    1. Hey Eliza and Yoda. Okay... Next Wednesday's post will be all about the drawers. Promise - even if there's other stuff on the desk. ;-)

I've seen the stickles holders at stamp shows but I'll tell you a secret. Those are homemade with a length of 2x2 and 1.25" PVC pipe. So super easy!

    1. Hi Jan! Yes, I love swapping. I'm always looking to swap ATCs. I joined the MO stamping group while I still lived in IL, right after we bought the house down here. Kind of help ground me in my new home.

I love being able to create on my table again. There are still several things I need to do to make it what it was before family upheaval three years ago... but it's coming along.

    1. Hi Laura. I had a great time making the cards. Though I did get lost in my project and missed my nail appointment. Oh well... I don't work in the yard so well with them anyway.

  16. In my mind your desk looks very organized - you even have printouts of the cards you want to work on if you can't get on line. :O I try to keep everything picked up, but there's always at least a little pile somewhere. Blessings!
