WOYWW #332

Good morning and happy WOYWW from a very chilly Ozarks region of MO. We are at 45 degrees F. The day has promise to be gorgeous as I watch the sun top the trees. I have laundry ready to go on the line and a house to clean.

When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground where Miss Julia has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.

My desk hasn't changed a lot since last week. The CD binder and photo album beneath has all of my digi images. Brenda, over at Disney Girl offered up a challenge for us to beat her to participating in the October challenge at Scrapbook Blessings. Anything goes but the optional is to use ONLY a digi image. I thought this was a good one to play with.

The stack of receipts to the right need to be logged into my Stamp 2 Spend check register. Goal is to track how much we spend, thus encouraging us to use more of what we have. We 'pay' ourselves for making cards, scrapbook LOs, etc... using what we have before buying new. I know I am so in the RED that I've avoided tracking for a very long time. Determined to do that today.

This is the other end of the work island. Nothing exciting. Tub of various adhesives, my paddle sizzix for when I just need one of something. This is temporary until I get my cutting station fully set up. The paper holders are all of my Recollections cardstock. I use that on cards I know people are just going to toss.

There.. I've shown you mine. Let's see yours. I love snooping in to see what everyone else is working on.

Creative Blessings!
Kel

  1. Ooooh, that Stamp2Spend check could be a minefield for some of us, I suspect!! I dread to think how much money I've spent accruing my fine fabric stash, plus ribbons, buttons, brooch backs etc etc etc. Best not to think about it...although, if I am justifying it, my husband only has one camera, but it's a Canon adn costs a huge amount more than my fabric...so I'm not so guilty after all! How's THAT for self jusitification? LOL

    2. I think the same way, because my husband also has an expensive camera and lenses! At least he can't complain about my hobby expenses!

  2. Oh dear, good job I don't track - but my haul was what I earned working at the show so does that count?
BTW - T was for torn (explanation at the end of my blog)
    Hugs and Thanks for visiting.

  3. What a great idea to keep track of your spending although I think I may well be permanently in the red too despite good intentions to use stash before buying more. All the new stuff is so tempting isn't it?
    Have a good week.

  4. Now I havent heard about Stamp2Spend, but it seems very sensible to me. Although I would be epically in the red most of the time! And OMG, tubs of adhesives...how do you not sink your fingers into one each time you open it? Oh, just me then!!

  5. Even sneaking things into the room, my hubby can accurately claim that a birthday card actually cost me $14.78..Really need to start making multiples..and using them! Not sure I'd ever balance out that account! LOL! Love how organized your two spots are. Have a great week.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

You are actually #42. Think someone must have deleted themselves as I was 23, but now 22:)

  7. (Thanks for the heads up on the numbers, Sue - it appears I am now 27 and not 28 lol!!) Kel, what a lovely busy desk. And a great idea for using what you have before buying new. I am having a bit of a blitz at the moment, trying to use up some really old stash on my cards, and finding that I do quite like it after all - used in a different form!

Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment - I'm afraid the talc on the mixed media pages wasn't my idea - can't remember where I read that but somewhere on the Internet lol! It works very well. Lol at our hubbies and their overspending on food! I always used to keep promising myself I wouldn't take mine shopping with me because he was always saying "Oooh look at that! Let's have some of that..." and for the past 6 months and more, I've been letting him out on his own, without me being a restraining infuence on his shopping urges lol lol!! It's only now that the end is in sight that I am caring about how serious this is hahaha!! I must be feeling better... But you are right - what would we do without them! He has been a tower of strength throughout this journey since January, and has done soooo much for me and been there with me, and for me, every step of the way, even learning from the stoma nurse with me, how to change my bag etc. I couldn't have got this far without him, I know that. My wonderful hubby!

  10. Well, I missed all the number changing as I am just now getting here. :) Like I am finally making it to the party. Things are beginning to look normal on your desk, Kelly. As for S2S Challenge, for October, I need to subtract $150 or more for my latest SU! order! Yikes! :) #53

  11. It's a good challenge to use up your old stash from time to time... we crafters just keep on buying 'new' isn't it? Have fun creating! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #28

  12. Thanks for calling by at mine yesterday.
My theory with my spending on my crafty stash is that it's the price my hubby pays for my sanity :-) .....after all he does have to live with me hehehe

  13. I could not keep a register of what I spend as I think it would be incriminating. Imagine if it fell into the wrong hands :) Thanks so much for your lovely comments.

  14. Hi Kelly and thanks for visiting my desk. That sounds like a great idea because the funds add up so quickly and there area all sorts of 'must haves'. This year I am being very careful with my purchases, especially with paper and card stock. Enjoy your week Cheers RobynO#24

  15. What a super desk, mmmm not sure I'd want to know how much I've spent!! Thought I have cut right back this year only buying essentials like card and glue. It's hard but my room is bursting with stash! Take care Zo xx 31

  16. Hi Kelly,
Yikes! If I tracked what I spend on crafting supplies I'd probably make myself cry! I've been going through stuff and have given loads of 12 x 12 paper away and now have a bag ready to give to an art teacher at one of the elementary schools in town. Yep, I'm cleaning out. It seems that I prefer my knitting to cardmaking.

Thank you for visiting me already! It's nice to get back into the swing of things!@

    Happy WOYWW
    Peace,

  17. Hi Kelly
Thanks for dropping by. Wow, you have a really tidy and organised space! I am never, ever going to keep track of what I spend :)
My husband has a race car and a boat! Both are bottomless pits when it comes to gobbling up money, so I have no qualms about buying anything I want :)
    Have a good week,
