WOYWW #459

There is the main work area of my desk. Not as bad as last week. I had to clear a space yesterday and pull up the leaf to work on a batch of cards.

I finally figured out why the Stampin' Up! blog took a dump in lack of activity. I am a visual person. I have a big blog board I use as an Editorial Calendar for all of my blogs. What is supposed to post when and to which blog. I have a separate one just for SU. As soon as I pulled it out yesterday and began planning blog posts, the creative juices began flowing and this is part of the result:

I'd seen a VIDEO by Dena Rekow for doing simple cards with Designer Series Paper as the focal point. I have 4 packs of Fresh Florals and knew this was the perfect project for some of that paper.

Fresh Floral DSP

Coordinating Cardstock colors
Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide

I'm not sure how everything came about but once I started cutting, I decided I'd make six of each floral pattern. I chose Smokey Slate cardstock for my card base and for the mats on the Powder Pink.
When I have them all together and ready for the blog on Saturday, for Keep It Simple Saturday, I will have 40 cards! 3 Happy Birthday, 2 Celebrate and 2 Thank You in each color combination.

That's it for my desk this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground  for all the details. Miss Julia has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.  Please leave your number and you'll be among the first on my list.

Creative Blessings!
~Kelly

    1. Hey Margaret. My problem is once I get an idea I figure I might as well cut multiples while I'm at it, though I've never gone to this level before LOL

    1. Thank you, Helen. To be honest, I didn't know what I'd do with them. I always look in all over patterns as something to be cut up. This gal gave me a new perspective.

  9. Not on an upturned pail, promise, no peekin' in - just opening the door.
And what a lovely reception with all those gorgeous packs for cards you have for us to look at. Perfect papers, coordinate wonderfully. Looking forward to seeing them all put together.
I know what you mean about footfall. I did my journal page today (Thursday) and so far not a visitor in sight. Hope you fair better than me.
    Hugs until next time

  10. Loving your papers. I like the idea for the simple cards and might just use that technique some time soon. Late this week as I'm still trying to get back to normal after the trip away. Have a great belated woyww, Angela x17x

  12. Hi Kelly, Your blog post inspired me! I love making cards production style, I really need to get a bunch of birthday cards done! I keep a planner for my blog posts ( my blog and 5 DT's) and I am constantly revamping it, it is an ongoing annoying process. T Some day IO will be happy with it! Thanks for stopping by my blog - I am book marking you too! Have a great week, Ginny #29
