WOYWW #781 - A New Era - In A New Home

 Good morning, sweet crafting friends!

Before I go any further, I want to thank Miss Julia for 780 weeks of an amazing blog hop. I don't think there's ever been a hop of any kind that has run for 15 Years!

As she steps down, she has passed the baton into the very capable hands of Sarah at Sarah's Craft Shed

WOYWW was established in 2009. My first post (though the #1 in the title is incorrect - I think because it was my first week) was on May 18, 2011... You can see that post HERE. I've learned a lot about blogging since then... and still have more to learn.

Back then, I was still in the basement room - all 10x10 that wouldn't begin to hold what I've accumulated since. All of my books and collections were still in boxes from the move and only the craft supplied I said had to be contained in the entertainment center or they couldn't stay and my writing supplies were out in view.  That's now Bob's man cave and he has it pretty full.  LOL

Today:

I did a bit of crafting over the weekend finishing my ATCs. I have several left if anyone is interested. They presently are turned backwards in the water cup of the crafting mat. The card in the back is from my Make It Mail It Monday post HERE. Part of my decluttering is to work through leftover Card Chick kits going back several years. Each Monday I pull out an envelope and see what I can create.

Someone asked a couple of weeks ago about the squares along the back of the mat. They are for dropping colors of inks or paints into then there are two larger rectangles for mixing colors. I don't think the cup itself is very practical if you want to pick up the mat and take it to the sink for cleaning or disposing of the water so I use it to hold a small cup. Keeps the cup from getting tipped over and I can take the cup to the sink to empty. The mat also wipes down nicely with a bit of hand sanitizer and a cloth... even cleans up paint - and trust me, by the time I finished with the ATCs there was plenty of Metallic Glimmer Mist from Cosmic Shimmer to be wiped up! LOL

That's it for my desk this week. Today, I'm FINALLY getting to dig into the office clutter. I'm so happy! Maybe I can show progress and inspiration next week.

That's it for my desk (and story) this week. Who's Miss Sarah and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to
Sarah’s Craft Shed for all the details. Miss Sarah has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.  Please leave your number and you'll be among the first on my list.

MAKE IT MAIL IT MONDAY - Card Chicks Envelope

 Good afternoon, craft friends!

Sorry I'm coming late. I didn't clean up the filming/ crafting table yesterday afternoon after my #allthingsaltered video so had to get that out of the way before I could make today's card.

Today's card kit was courtesy of Debbie Bodenchuk to kick of Round 14 of the monthly card kit swap in 2021.

Debbie left us suddenly in 2023. We didn't chat much except through the group. She was always so busy with 4-H and her taxidermy business. I kidded her that when my Spirit kitty died, I'd be bring him to her.

Here's the kit she sent. Some are in pieces as I'd forgotten to photograph before I began working on my card:

There were two copies of the flamingo image (which I'd colored before photo) I had one cut and prepared to mat when I dropped an Mint Macaron ink spot just above the flamingo's back.

The kit included:
Image - Inkadinkado - Flamingo Fun
The papers were from The Paper Studio: Floral Cluster, Airy Polka Dot, Bella Bella rose

Here's the card:

I colored the image with Stampin' Up! Stamping Blends. The flamingo and mat were cut using Stampin' Up! Layering Ovals dies (retired). I used a sentiment from a Tim Holtz small talk stickers and the sentiment mat cut from Stampin' Up! Stitched Rectangles (retired)

I have several pieces of paper left over. From today, going forward I'll be turning the leftover papers in masterboards that I can later use in junk journals. Fibers and embellishments added to my stash.

I'll be back tomorrow with a video link for #TryItTuesday. I'll also be alternating Tuesday posts as #TryItTuesday and #TagTuesday

Creative Blessings!

WOYWW #779

 Good morning, crafty friends!

Wednesday is making an appearance once again... as are the rain and storms. We're forecast for more this afternoon then I think we get a couple of days break before we're looking at rain every day next week.

Before I forget, I'd love to ATC swap with you. Please send your email to KellyH (at) artlover (dot) com

Please do NOT use the contact for on the blog. I seldom check that LOL

I have two desks to show this week.

The actual desk:

Not super exciting. Just my art journal on top of my new mixed media mat I picked up at a church rummage sale last week. I've been tearing pages from it to work on various projects in the Art & Junk Journal on-line retreat this week. Today is the last day for the Free Pass but I bought the All Access so I have the All Access Pass Extravaganza yet tomorrow.

Here's where I've been doing some of the work:

This is the ironing board platform at the end of my work table. I've been doing most of the wet stuff here. The bat at the bottom is actually a silicone baking/ pastry sheet I picked up at Menards (home improvement) for under $4!!!  I have tissue papers pulled to redo the collage class. I'm discovering I am just not a collage person  - at least not in an art journal standpoint but I'm going to give it one more go.

That's it for my desk (and story) this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground for all the details. Miss Julia has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. MAKE IT - MAIL IT MONDAY

 Good morning, crafty friends!

For my post today, I'm sharing the entire collection of cards I made from Madison's paper challenge. I made 14 cards using 3 different One Sheet Wonder layouts. I've already started mailing some of these. Was nice to have general sentiments handy.

Group 1 featured Petal Pink bases. The large petal flowers on the top left card were made from the Stampin' Up! 4-leaf clover punch. The card on the top right used one of the retires flower punches.

Group 2 featured Melon Mambo. Since the paper featured flowers, I used the Stampin' Up! medium daisy punch (retired).

Group 3 featured Tangerine Tango as a base. the floral border is Poppy Flower from Studio Light. The Shamrock punch was used as well as a swirl  embellished with black enamel dots and various sentiments from my stash.

That's it for me today. I am taking part in a 3-day on-line Junk Journal Retreat (even while Bob is home!) so will be squeezing in posts as I go.

WOYWW #778

 Good morning, crafty friends!

Beautiful day in the Ozarks. I've sent Bob off to spend the day with his buddies from IA. He took a roaster full of pork steaks and gravy and some minute rice to cook when they're ready.  As soon as I sit for a few minutes I'll get the cinnamon roll dough started.

My desk:

I finished up a challenge item for Madi's Spectrum Art Creations & Friends FB group, filmed the video then was done for the day.

This is what I made:

You'll find the inspiration video -- > HERE. Madi's is 3x4 I believe (perfect for putting into a junk journal for journaling spots) but I wanted something larger that I could put in my planner. I'll use the pockets to tuck the challenge detail cards from the FB group. We have challenges - usually 4-7 - that go from the first of the month to the end of the month. Madi's plan is not only for us to buy products but to USE THEM! Cool concept, right? LOL

Mine measures 6x8 with 5 pockets. In Madi's video you'll notice her entire base is also a pocket. I made mine to just be a flat base. Except for the charm and brads, I used all Stamperia products. the papers were from the Artelier paper pad.

You'll find my video explaining better ---> HERE.

Okay. I promised you Clematis pictures this morning so here you go:

I always wanted Clematis and am so happy to see these beauties flower every spring.
