HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! - First Project Details

Good morning, everyone!

I am so ready for a new year and to get back on track. I'm not sure what happened in 2022 but I just couldn't stay on the merry go round.

I've chosen my word of the year - CONSISTENT

My plan is to stay consistent on the following areas:

Blogging
Social Media Marketing
YouTube
Writing
6M4L - I'll explain in a later post

Today, I'm kicking of 2023 with a challenge I've wanted to play in for the past couple of years but I never seemed to get in on the ground floor.
MEGJOURNALS offers a January and a July version of this challenge.

You'll find all of the details HERE:

Basically, you have a prompt every day of the month to do something in your journal. You do NOT have to play every day. You can skip prompts that don't jive with you. Other than that, it's just a time to let go and be creative as it comes.

The journal can be anything. If you go to Meg's YouTube Junk Journal January Playlist, you'll find all the several options from great creators. There are 29 collaborators in this project.

I decided to do flat sheets then I'll put them together with binder rings.
The other thing I'm doing is blending this with Madi's Spectrum Art Creations Christmas Challenge - which she has extended to January 15th.  There are 42 Challenges for us to do  - each one completed enters us into a drawing (for each number so 42 chances to win!)

I'll explain that part in a minute. But first, this is what I'm starting with:

For Madi's challenges we have to use at least 50% of products purchased from her in each of the projects.  I'm starting with the brown packing paper that comes in my orders. I'm going to cut each down to 4.25" x 6". Technically the working space will be 4x6 but the 1/2" gives me binding room.  I'm going to cut the mats from the brown paper, glue together in the center then stitch around the parameter.  The stencil, stencil butter, washi and Lyndi's Magical powders were purchased from their Spectrum Art Creations store. That stencil, by the way, is their own design.

Then I have all of this lovely ephemera to play with when doing the prompts:

Some of the pieces came in a box from my friend, Terri, in London. Others, like the book paper (Stamperia), the botanical cards, tickets and ephemera packs are from Spectrum Arts. I also have a box of clippings from the personal journal I did last week.

Here's the video for that journal:

I will be back tomorrow where we will talk about Birthday and Anniversary cards for the month of January.

Creative Blessings!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year, everyone!

I am back and ready to create again. I always take the holidays off. Bob was gone for Christmas but got home a couple days before New Years. My time has been all about him. I am back in the studio a bit this week but not for long projects. Four hours a day is my limit as this is his last week home. Once he leaves on the 18th (which may be extended a week) I'll be back to regular schedule and ten-hour days.

I am sharing a video from YouTube about what I have been working on and what's on the immediate horizon.

For now, I just want to enjoy this time with Bob.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I can't believe we are saying 2019! I have great plans to get back to creating more this year and I hope you'll come along for the journey and share your creativity, too.

I had planned to start the blog posts tomorrow but Bob is still home and he is trying to get some medical appointments taken care of before he goes back out. Those trips require near full days with travel/ appointment/ lunch. Ugh. One even has required an overnight to the big city.  That means I'm not getting the creating done ahead of a writing retreat I have the 3-6.  So my plan now is to spend the week following the retreat to get items made and scheduled on the blog beginning Monday January 14th. I do hope to get a video done of my Happy Planner Miss Maker planner that I will be using to keep me on track with challenges. If all goes well, that will air tomorrow. (I'm writing this on the 30th as we prepare for that overnight. I just don't know if I'll have time to get the video filmed before we have to leave in a few hours.)

One exception is I will be here on January 2nd. for WOYWW! We are crossing the 500th Week of visiting other artistic folks around the globe. Our doors and hearts are open to show what we've been up to and there is always room for new folks. I hope you will join us!

I hope you are jumping in to 2019 with both feet and full of creativity!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Welcome to 2018!
Are you ready? Have you made resolutions? Do you have Goals you hope to accomplish in 2018?

Boy, do I! No resolutions other than to really use my planners this year. The rest will fall into place.

I hereby set the resolution that I will do my weekly planning on Sunday's as part of my Self-Care regiment.

I'm taking this week off to finish putting the planners in line and get some projects lined up so that I can kick off next year on track - rather than feeling like I'm behind before I even start.

Not this year! I took my life back in December and now I'm going to work the plan and ENJOY creating again.

Do you make resolutions? Set Goals. What do you want from 2018?

Leave a comment below to be entered into a Mystery Grab Pack of goodies. Also tell me if which Mystery Grab Pack you want:

Yarns/ Fibers
Stamping/ Paper Crafting
Mixed Media

Drawing is January 25th - this gives you plenty of time to Comment and Share this post.
If the person commenting is NOT one of my regulars, I'll be asking who they heard it from. This could get you extra entries... so SHARE!

Creative Blessings!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year!

I know I've been absent for several weeks. I just needed to put social media on hold to get through the holidays and put life on track.  Thank you for your patience.

I have some great projects lined up. My first post for 2017 should go up on Friday then we get on a roll from there ::: crossing fingers :::

I do have a new job. Aside from selling Stampin' UP as a hobby dem, I am now Director of Marketing for a publishing company. Part of my job is to train the authors on how to market themselves and I'm starting with a blank slate to put this department together.

That is going to limit my blogging time for a bit but I'm only scaling back on a couple of blogs. My creative blogs are very important to me and will take priority over the others.

Please bear with me as I get back on track. I look forward to showing you some cute projects, but more importantly INSPIRING you to do your own thing.

Creative Blessings!

Happy New Year!

Yeah! A new year, a new start, and my time is my own again. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED spending time with my granddaughter. I wouldn't have traded the time I spent with her for anything. That said, it does feel good to be playing in the Studio again.

The remodel of the Studio is nearly complete. Just a couple of decorator touches like the table skirt and finding a place to put my Christmas presents :-) We measured the finished area last night and I'm working in 73 square feet of space! On one hand that isn't a lot of space. But it does put everything at my fingertips.

Yesterday I finally got to sit down and PLAY. I'm going to be posting at least 3 times a week. Once everything gets into a routine I hope to post every day.

Mondays will be Magazine Monday. What is Magazine Monday?
How many scrapbooking and stamping magazines do you have on your shelf? Have you bookmarked projects you want to try? How many of them have you ACTUALLY tried?
Well, I've pledged not to buy another magazine in 2011 until I've used everyone I have bookmarked as a spring-board for a project. And every Monday you get to see what I've come up with. I'll tell you which magazine it came from, a shot of the project I cased (if it's a really old magazine), and direct you to their website for current projects.

So let's get started!

Closing out 2010

Okay, it was brought to my attention I've not updated this blog since September. It's just been a really crazy, unusual year for me all the way around. But things are FINALLY settling into place and I've learned some things along the way.

Beginning the first week of January I will have specific types of things posted every day. Some days will have pictures, some days not. This will have to be based on the days I'm able to travel to WiFi. I hope you'll follow along on my new journey. I look forward to sharing it with you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
