WOYWW 889

 Good morning, friends!

Well, I wrote my post, linked at Sarah's and the post has vanished so let's try this again!

First off, I apologize for link issues last week. HERE is the correct link for the Angel Number video.

Here's my desk:

In the center you'll see the 'list' journal I created for Julie's Mini Challenge In the Challenge for this month. She has one of these mini challenges every month for those who might want to play but don't have the time or the inclination for the larger month-long challenge. Like all of her challenges, there are specific requirements. In attempting this mini, I remembered why I stopped doing her challenges. I want to create what I want, how I want, use my own creativity. I just don't find the challenges fun for me. I'm okay with that. This is NOTHING against Julie. She's a lovely person and so many people enjoy her challenges. Sadly, I'm not one of them. You can see my struggle in my #TagTuesday video yesterday.

So here's my plan going forward.
I will be making a journal every month from kits I have curated based on my preferences and style. This month, I'm making a Patriotic birthday to celebrate the 250th birthday of the USA. Definitely a keeper journal. Next month, I plan to work through my Pink Christmas for Christmas in July (mind you, while posting Christmas cards - time to get on those!)
If you'd like to follow my process, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel and click the notifications. Your follow is very much appreciated.

That's it for my desk (and story) this week. Who's Miss Sarah and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Sarah’sCraft Shed for all the details. Miss Sarah has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.  Please leave your number and you'll be among the first on my list.

WOYWW #888

 Good morning, crafty friends!

Wow! Look at that number.

I've always been conscious of numbers and their meanings. I'll leave a short video at the bottom for you. But in general, 888 means Abundance, Prosperity, and everything is falling into place as it is meant to be.

I'm feeling that now. As my desk this week shows, I'm back to creating.

I'm doing a patriotic journal this month and decided to jump in to the DearJulieJulie challenge this month. June Just Junk Journal Challenge 26. I've not played in her challenges in a couple of years but she's been doing some new things with the challenges and I love to learn new things.
The chair holds a canning jar box with most of the items I'll pull from for the challenge. The page in the center of the desk is the list of requirements. I'm not doing the full challenge, which requires posting to the facebook group, but I'm following some of her items and will be doing videos along the way. You'll find the details for this month's challenge HERE. This is a month-long challenge so plenty of time to jump in. I've done her challenges in as little as 3 days. I don't recommend that. LOL

And here's the short video on the Angel Number 888.

MIXED MEDIA MONDAY - Junk Journal Junkies

 Hi everyone!

Sorry this is posting late. I leave for a six-day writing retreat/ conference on Wednesday. Bob has company coming down from IA on Wednesday. So I'm trying to position my stuff from the bedroom back to the office so we can get my roll top desk out of the dining room.

Of course, it's like getting new carpet then realizing the furniture doesn't go with it... and the remodel continues.

That's kind of where I'm at today. I can move stuff back in, but I'm cleaning first. Of course, the computer desk is cleaned off but I'm positive I have tons of Asian beetles behind that behemoth piece of furniture, so I need to pull out the drawers, move the dresser, vacuum then put stuff back. LOL It's a thing.

But first, I need a bit of a break.

I'm joining in with Yvonne Preston and ArtyMaze over at Junk Journal Junkies on FB. I joined last month but only got one small tag made. You'll understand why when you watch the video below.

All the information is in the description box including how to join Junk Journal Junkies and access the freebie I'll be working with.

I'll be back tomorrow for a tag video. That's pretty much my best way to get to everyone for the next 10 days.

DAY 17-20 #DOTHE100DAYPROJECT

 Hey Crafty friends.

Playing a little catch up here. We had tornados blow through our area on Friday night. Bob left Thursday morning so I napped a lot on Thursday. Friday I spent the day prepping for the tornados and catching up on my tags.  I'll be back with MAKE IT MAIL IT Monday next week. In the mean time, here are the last tags of the Winter theme:

Day 17:

Day 18:

Day 19:

Day 20:

I've not chosen the next category yet. I'll pull that tag later today.

DAY 13 & 14 #DOTHE100PROJECT

 Good morning, crafty friends!

I got so caught up in a project yesterday that took  much longer than I anticipated and I'm still not done. Does that happen to you?

So here is Day 13:

The papers are more black/ gray than they show in the picture. Even the tree. So I added a pop of color with the word snow from a strip of ribbon that had some light blue. I brought the blue in with the snowflake (which shows up better in person) and in the bling.

DAY 14:

I took a liberty with this tag by adding a scalloped mat behind the main image. I thought this add a bit more dimension as well as a bit of femininity. The trees were fussy cut from the same paper line.

DAY 12 - #DOTHE100DAYCHALLENGE

 Good morning craft friends.

Beautiful sunshine for photos this morning so I did today's tag really quick so as not to miss the light.

With this second set of ten tags, I'm in a winter/ snow theme. You know, since winter seems to want to make frequent appearances.

NOTE: Most of my items are RETIRED Stampin' Up! I have plenty to use. LOL I know all the DSP from them is retired.

Today's tag:

I chose Snowflake Splendor for today's tag. I knew the medium and large snowflakes in the paper were perfect for the circle element and the pull tab. I did add a skim of Night of Navy cardstock to break up the two middle layers.
Remember, if you’re playing, I’d love to see your creations. Share on social media and tag me.

DAY 7 - #DOTHE100DAYPROJECT

 Good morning, crafty friends!

Scurrying around to get some things done before dinner with Bob.

I'm finding I need to either make my tag the night before or first thing in the morning to have the best light for photographing in the morning. I'll be checking the weather next week as we're to have storms. I may need to make up & photo a few ahead just in case.

Here is today's tag:

I used retired papers from Stampin' Up! - Petal Garden 6x6 paper, Barely Banana and Soft Sky card stock.
I think the baker's twine is also SU. I braided a yellow/ white with a single strand of solid black to make the tassel.
The bee is from #T stamp set - Garden.
The embossed honeycomb on the yellow strip and the hole reinforcer as well as the sentiment are from a Cardmaking & Papercrafts magazine (2018)

WOYWW 787

 Good morning, crafty friends!

I've had a busy couple of weeks and Wednesday's just seem to fly by before I realize.

Before I go further, on my last visit I meant to post the ATC I received from Susan Renshaw. The ATC was part of a card and beautifully created. Thank you, Susan! I hope you've received yours by now.

Now my desk for this:

The digital from Spectrum Art Creations & Friends FB group. Madi from Spectrum Art Creations offered up a free 4th of July digital along with a challenge for us to use any of the images to create anything we'd like to enter into the Flash Challenge. Deadline is midnight July 4th. I got right on fussy cutting the images this morning and created this tag:

I have tomorrow and Thursday to create more entries. First on my list for today is to make a Memory Dex card. The more entries I get in the more chances I have at a $5 GC for their on-line store.

That's it for my desk (and story) this week. Who's Miss Sarah and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to

MAKE IT - MAIL IT - Fairy Challenge Cards

 Good morning, crafty friends.

My schedule is always off kilter when Bob is home. Combine that with the fact I was supposed to be gone last wee (the trip didn't happen), I am just now sitting down determined to be on track this week. Bob leaves Tuesday.

Today's cards are ones I made a couple of weeks ago for two reasons. I used the technique inspired by Tim Holtz and his postage stamp stickers. I couldn't see ordering those when I have beautiful ones from a set called Autumn of Fairy Tales that I'd ordered from Spectrum Art Creations. You'll find them HERE, though the set I used is not shown.

So aside from Try It Tuesday video, these cards also work for the Spectrum Art Creations and Friends Facebook Group challenge this week to make something showcasing fairies. I also used fairy postcards purchased from their shop. (I believe these were Spectrum Art Creations aka SACs Originals)  The butterfly button was also purchased from one of their Saturday Live Sales.

I'll be back tomorrow to link up a Try It Tuesday video then hopefully for WOYWW on Wednesday.

MAKE IT - MAIL IT MONDAY

 Good morning, crafty friends!

For my post today, I'm sharing the entire collection of cards I made from Madison's paper challenge. I made 14 cards using 3 different One Sheet Wonder layouts. I've already started mailing some of these. Was nice to have general sentiments handy.

Group 1 featured Petal Pink bases. The large petal flowers on the top left card were made from the Stampin' Up! 4-leaf clover punch. The card on the top right used one of the retires flower punches.

Group 2 featured Melon Mambo. Since the paper featured flowers, I used the Stampin' Up! medium daisy punch (retired).

Group 3 featured Tangerine Tango as a base. the floral border is Poppy Flower from Studio Light. The Shamrock punch was used as well as a swirl  embellished with black enamel dots and various sentiments from my stash.

That's it for me today. I am taking part in a 3-day on-line Junk Journal Retreat (even while Bob is home!) so will be squeezing in posts as I go.

WOYWW #752

Good morning, friends!

I woke up to 23*F this morning.... for the third day in a row!  Way too early in the season for this here in the Ozarks.

My desk this morning:

I had the space almost cleared off of the #31DaysofHalloween project you saw last week but I still wanted to get one more challenge project and posted by deadline last night. I had to do something with the 3D Pushout design sheet (by Find It Trading - purchased from Spectrum Art Creations Saturday Live sale)

I used the Botanical Garden collection to make this card:

While the flower wasn't supposed to be Christmasy, I remembered this paper from a retired Stampin' Up! collection called This Christmas and knew they'd go perfectly together.

I'll try to remember to show the  pictures next week that I took of our roadside wild plants yesterday morning.
In the mean time...

That's it for my desk (and story) this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground for all the details. Miss Julia has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. MAKE IT- MAIL IT Monday!

 Good morning, crafty friends!

Okay, today was supposed to be a Memory Dex card. I'll be doubling up on the next go round. Between Bob being home, celebrating our anniversary then a bad hotel experience for me over the weekend, just wasn't in the 'cards'.

However, I did have four cards made up for the Mintay Challenge with Spectrum Art Creations so that's the video and pictures for today.

I had to use Mintay papers/ products purchased in July/ August. Earlier this month I purchased two 12x12 sheets from the Bird Song collection and two 12x12 sheets from the Secret Place collection. I kind of mixed and matched everything around.

I've already done 4 projects I'll show you on Friday. For now, here are the four cards I made. I needed some general Thinking of You kind of cards:

Each card began with a Soft Succulent card base and one of the journaling cards from the collection. I used a stamp from one of my Paper Pumpkin kits, added velvet ribbon and pearls from Stampin' Up!

If you want to see the walk through, here's the video:

I'll be back tomorrow with tags from left-overs.

CARDS AND OTHER PRETTIES

 Good morning, friends!

Kateri, one of the Spectrum Art Creations & Friends FB group moderators, went on a cruise to Europe last fall and took some amazing photographs. So she offered up a challenge for us to create something with any of the photos. Our deadline is today - her wedding anniversary.

I chose four of the photos to manipulate into pretties (at least in my opinion). Note that while I did do the castle on Friday and the other three on Saturday, I didn't wait til the last minute. I plan everything out in my head for days before actually creating the project(s).

Since it's Monday, let's start with the card:

The background is of a terra cotta roof. Do you see what's hiding between the tiles?  I also used a Vintage fashion paper doll from Spectrum Art Creations... similar to this pack HERE.

I created the font in word. I may swap that lady out for one backed in white rather than black but I wanted to help draw out the item on the roof.

Next I used a photo she took of some mushrooms:

I placed the photo to the back of the frame then printed a second photo to fussy cut out just the mushrooms. I distressed the edges of the fussy cut pieces with a brown ink then layered them on top of the background photo with dimensionals. At the base of the photo, I mimicked the ground cover with some dried moss and pieces of acorn then added a couple of plastic ants, Tim Holtz tiny bone pieces and a gnome charm. (If you click on the photo to enlarge the image, you will see the tiny gnome hiding amongst the ground cover). I added a lady bug to the larger mushroom.

To make the layers fit into the frame, I put a double layer of dimensional tape all around the parameter of the photo. The tape is hidden by the frame. This gave me a bit of breathing room between the glass and the display. I simply eliminated the two pieces of cardboard backing that were in the vintage frame.

Number three:

This photo was of one of the many beautiful art pieces Kateri saw on her travels. The owl seems to be warding off a crow/ raven flying past him. The raven is on the back side of the votive cup. I printed the image on vellum and adhered to the outside of a votive cup from Dollar Tree then added French Gimp Braid Trim trim from Spectrum Art Creations.  (Note: they appear to be sold out of the brown but I've linked the white, which you can dye any color)

Here's the votive with an LED candle:

Finally, the largest piece:

I loved the picture of this castle and knew I wanted add more dimension.
I used a black shadow box frame. First, I printed the photo out at 8x10 onto photo paper and put into the frame. I printed out a second one on photo paper so that I could fussy cut out the bird. I mounted him on two layers of black cardstock, cut him out then set aside.
The castle was printed again but on Vellum and left to dry for a couple of days. I didn't want the ink to move/ smear. When it was dry, I fussy cut out just the castle (away from the sky/ tree background) then adhered to the outside front of the glass with Aleene's Spray Adhesive. Then I put the bird in place over the one on the print with a strip of black dimensional from Stampin' Up! The dimension appears to change depending on how much or little the frame is reclined.

I'll be back on Wednesday for the weekly blog hop. Wait til you see my work table!!! Before AND After shots coming!

MIXED MEDIA TAG FOR LineDotArrow Challenge

 Good morning, everyone!

First off, if you saw this last Monday, I made the post forgetting I had one scheduled LOL. Life is always interesting & busy when Bob is home.

I am part of Natalie's FB group - Line Dot Arrow. Lovely & talented lady from the Netherlands. I'll leave all of her links below so you can check her out.

Each week she offers a challenge. Last week (due the 13th and I just made it LOL) was to create a mixed media tag. She's just starting to play with mixed media and wanted us to explore the medium with her and maybe learn from each other along the way.

Here's the tag I made:

I sandwiched a 3.5" x 7" file folder tag between two of Natalie's digital tags. Then I took a third digital tag and torn that to create the pattern in the bottom right side. I know it looks like a pocket but I do have the piece glued down completely. I layered a strip of another of her tags on that then added a fussy cut image from the same tag as the triangular piece. The oval at the top is from her digitals as well. I used all of her free digitals from the Facebook group. I want her SPRING BLOOM COLLECTION but waiting for money to transfer to my paypal. The laces as well as the burlap, leaf and tag tie were all from my stash. I made the dangle from part of an actual dangle attached to a wrapped paperclip. Both the wrapping and the 'thank you' were from one of the digital sheets.

Mixed Media can mean different things to different people. For me I think pattern, texture, fabric/ lace, metals. I would like to have added some texture paste/ stenciling but last week was crazy and I didn't get to the FB group until Friday - when the challenge was due! LOL But that's pretty much how I roll most of the time.

Here's her video for the Mixed Media Tag:

Our next challenge is to make a stuffed Paper Bag. Not sure what that entails? Check out Natalie's video as she begins constructing hers:

You will find all of Natalie's links via her linktr.ee

I hope you'll come join us!

WOYWW #714 & #KCDFebJJ23 Challenge - Week 2

 Good morning, friends!

I'm squeaking in late. Seems the past few nights when I go to bed the sinus' start draining (even sitting up) then the throat gets a bit of a scratch. For the most part I'm fine during the day. I've been up and back to bed once today. We'll see how the rest of the day pans out.

So, my desk is a bit more cluttered than last week. For those of you who thought it was staged last week, it wasn't. I had just finished filming a video and that is the sheet I use in the video.

A bit of a mess but that's okay. All will be right again as I have another video to film today.
All of this is getting cleared off this weekend as I prepare to move things around in the filming/ creative corner so I can finally get my stamps all unpacked and cataloged - next month.

My #KCDFebJJ23 Challenge video is up. I start with a bit more clarification in my purpose behind the monthly challenge before pulling the stick for this week. If you were thinking of playing along but weren't quite clear, this is the video to check out.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT CHALLENGE - #sacs2

 Good morning, friends!

With eleven projects in my arsenal I thought I'd share another one today. With the cold air in a lot of parts of the country (did you see the snow in AZ?), I thought this tag was perfect to play with.

I used STAMPERIA - Cozy Winter. I added a double layer of Cathedral Lace ( Hobby Lobby), fibers I had in my stash and Crystal Stickles. I cut the tag using a Tim Holtz largest tag die.

In this side of the tag I cut the basket of gifts, the tree, and the individual presents from the fussy cut image sheet and layered everything. I added stickles to the ornaments on the tree.

For this side, I centered the die over the sentiment in the 6x6 paper pad and added stickles to the florals and cotton boles. This was actually the front. I chose the music sheet for the back based on the wording here.

I'll be back tomorrow with Week 3in the January Color Challenge.

MAKE IT MAIL IT MONDAY - Bo Bunny!

Good morning, friends.

I just realized that I mis-titled the post last Monday. Especially since I talked about cards LOL

So here we are, correct title and a new card.

I spent the past weekend working on a massive Christmas Creative Challenge for Spectrum Art Creations. Before leaving for a six-week tour of Europe Madi set up a list of forty-two challenges using the items we had purchased from them. We had to use at least 50% of the purchased product in each challenge. Out of the forty-two, I made eleven.

Granted, we had all of December then were given a requested extension until January 15th. But as you know, I spent most all of December cataloging all the SU paper pads. I was not going to leave that project partially done and move to something else.

#SACS20 was easy. All the components were in a kit from Bo Bunny called, NOTEWORTHY.  All I had to do was choose which elements to work with. I layered the flowers in each corner as well as the bird, added stickles and the card was finished.

I'll be back tomorrow to show you another item I made from the list.

#KCDJANJJ23 Challenge - Week 2

 Good morning, crafty friends!

I am finally coming to the end of cataloging all of this Stampin' Up! paper. I should have a photo and an embarrassing number to share with you next week. In the mean time, there is still LOTS to do before Bob gets home tomorrow, so I'm making this short and just sharing the video link for this week's part of the monthly challenge!

I hope you're playing along!  Please share on your social media using the #KCDJanJJ23 so I can see what you're doing!

#KCDJANJJ23 Challenge - Week 1

Good morning!

As I set up this post I realized I had not posted the details about my monthly challenge here! I was sure I'd moved the video over.
I've been busy, to put things mildly. I've spent the past four days cataloging over 30 paper packs from Stampin' Up! that never got cataloged - over the past 2.5 years!!! Geez. Was way overdue. That project is done and I now at a flip through my binders what paper I have.

So quick note, I'll leave 2 videos today. The first will be the Monthly Challenge details and the 2nd is of the stick pull for Week 1.

Basically, we're doing a month - long challenge with your base colors being BLUES, WHITE, SILVER (or gray).  Then each week, I pull an art stick and that is one of the items you're to make. You have all month to complete any part of this project. Choose to do the ones that excite you and skip the others. No minimum requirements... just have FUN!

Challenge video with complete details:

Week 1 item:

I'll be back tomorrow to show you the 1st item going in my shop.
