WOYWW #867

 Good morning desk hoppers!

I didn't get around to anyone last week.
There is also no change to my area.  I know you all will understand.

Meet HoneyB, my little mob boss. ;-)
After eleven years as part of our family, my vet and I sent him across the rainbow Thursday night.
He showed up on our deck looking more like a Beagle/ Spaniel mix. Litter box trained and would bring me his food bowl when he was ready to eat. HoneyB was my lap dog. I never wanted a Beagle but he didn't howl... for about the first three months. LOL Once he found his howl, he morphed into a Beagle/ Bassett mix.

About a week prior to Thursday he was a happy dog. Did his circles if he thought he was getting a treat, would come sit by me to get his ears pulled (he loved me gently tugging his velvet ears).
Then out of the blue he began throwing up his food to not eating anything at all, he became lethargic and wanted to be out in the cold more than in the house. We knew something wasn't right so I took him to see Dr. Mike on Tuesday. All the vitals were good but we decided at his age ( he would have turned 12 in March), anything blood work would show wasn't going to help any. With his age and weight, anesthesia wasn't a good option. So we brought him home. By Thursday morning, he wouldn't even come out of his house.

As with Spirit, I asked Earth Mother to give me a sign when she was ready for him. The next morning, when I woke up and put him out to potty, I noticed blood in the kennel. I was heartbroken but I knew it was time.
Dr. Mike came out at the end of the day, hugged me than helped pull HoneyB out of his house so he could put his head in my lap to get his final ear pulls. We sat and chatted while I talked to HoneyB as he crossed the rainbow.  Dr. Mikael Orchard from Barn Hollow Veterinary Clinic is the best! We've worked with him since he opened his practice.

My heart is broken but his spirit still runs on the back deck. We're going to turn his kennel run into a place to sit and have coffee with him in warmer weather and watch the sun rise.

I am back to work this week. I've been busy canning Beef Pot Pie filling and Salisbury Steak patties. I've also started my Tag Tuesday series, all about Valentine's Day. You can check yesterday's post for a picture of the tag.

That's it for my desk (and story) this week. Who's Miss Sarah and why am I here?  When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Sarah’sCraft Shed for all the details. Miss Sarah has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.  Please leave your number and you'll be among the first on my list.

Creative Blessings!

~ Kelly
