WOYWW #410

My desk this week is a bit uninspiring. The usual tools are in their place and my iPad mini handy for watching videos.

However, I do have a couple other things to show you. The uninspired surface is a result of clearing my mess up after making these two cards for my granddaughters. I had to clean up so I could photograph them:

I made the shaker card for my oldest granddaughter, Adrian. She is 9. I call her my 'tootsie pop'. Have no clue why... she's just always been that. I used recollections cardstock, Pawsitively DSP from SU. The flower border die is from Lawn Fawn. The bunny, eggs and flower are from SU - Basket Bunch. I also used the cloud stamp on the background from Sprinkles of Life (SU)

This one is for Abigail aka Abby. I call Abby 'cupcake' but she is quick to tell me she is NOT cupcake, she's 'Abigail' LOL She is 5. I got the idea for this card from a YouTube video fromSimon Says Stamps last year and bought the flower border tie. The die came in too late to use it so here it is making an appearance a year later. The clouds are punched from Sprinkles of Life and the Bunny/ eggs from Basket Bunch (SU)

Finally, this week. my next project:

This revamped Entertainment Center has served me well for ten years. The fiber board got some moisture issues when I was using it in the basement and now the mildew smell persists. Also, the drawers do not serve a purpose anymore as the stamps have gone to cases and stored in the photo boxes. As you can see from the floor, I'm out of room for photo boxes.

I'm taking everything off, stripping out the cabinet and Bob is going to build something similar to a cube cabinet but they will be 15x15 to accommodate my paper envelopes. Right now the paper is all on a lower shelf across from this and it's dark. I have to get down low (making it even darker) to find the papers I want. So paper on the new cabinet, track lighting. Then the stamp cases will go where the paper is right now.

I'll show pictures soon. Right now, time to start clearing stuff.
That's it for my desk this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  That's my desk? What's on yours? When you are done visiting me in the Ozarks, please hop on over to Stamping Ground where Miss Julia has a long list of other studios you can peek into. No standing on an up-turned milk pail to look in the window. We open the doors wide and welcome you.  Please leave your number and you'll be among the first on my list.

WOYWW #409

I just had to share! As soon as I saw what number we were this week, the song popped into my head.

Okay..
First off, I apologize for not commenting the past couple of weeks. The sinus gunk just overtook me and I barely had the energy to get the work done I had to do. Happy to say I think the sinus stuff is gone and while I still have tons of work to do/ catch up on, I also am getting some play time in.

Here's my desk this morning as I'm in the middle of projects for the Stampin' Up blog:

Last Saturday, in prep for serious Virtual Stamp Night FUN at Splitcoaststampers, I did a major clearing of the work table then put stuff back in a more orderly fashion. On the desk this morning are the 3.5" square mats of various papers for making mini treat baskets using the Basket Bunch from Stampin' UP! for my Friday blog post - Fab Five Friday. I take one stamp set and use it five different ways. Need to run some errands with Bob this afternoon then I'm back to work the rest of the evening.

That blue bordered piece? I adhered my silicone mat to a piece of heavy-weight chip board using that pretty blue patterned duct tape I found at $ Tree last year. You'll also notice the numbers are wearing off my trimmer. Might be time for a new one.

I managed 6 cards so far from the Virtual Stamp Night (VSN) challenges last weekend. Here's one of them. I actually made 6 of this card to add to my Christmas stash.

WOYWW - #407

Here's my desk as I left it yesterday. I had to get the Paper Pumpkin post up on the Stampin' Up blog.
You can see the full details of those cute little bunny bags HERE  Tomorrow, on the SU blog, I'll be showing how to use the stamp set that came with the March Paper Pumpkin to make Christmas cards.

If you missed this month's color challenge, you can see that HERE  I haven't put my card together for the challenge yet. This stupid cold has stalled my creativity.  However, I seem much better today so hopefully tomorrow.

COLOR CHALLENGE #3

I apologize for this post not going up yesterday. So much for my promise to have the March card up on time. I have been absolutely miserable with this second round of head cold and working really hard to keep it away from my chest. Lots of chair time and Nyquil/ Dayquil. Sadly, the cold is bad enough that even the Dayquil makes me sleepy.

I've not done a card for this one. I'm counting on you to inspire me and I'll try to add one before the April color challenge.  So here we go!

My color chose for this challenge is a nod to the first day of Spring. Bright colors reminiscent of the first flowers of the season.

I will post my card with the coordinating SU colors as soon as possible. In the mean time, link up with your card and let us see what you come up with!

Please share the blog post link on your blog. (I hope to also have a blog button in place by February) so others can play.

RULES:
There aren't any rules. You may use any company product you like. My only request is if you use a stamp or something special, link to the company so we may add to our stash, too :-D

WOYWW #405

Good morning, travelers!
Week #405 with Miss Julia and the What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday blog hop.
We are off to a beautiful start here in the Ozarks. A lovely 33*F but the sun is shining and the day holds promise.

My desk is a bit of a mess 'for me' this week. Pardon the glare. Front and center are 2 stamped images of pumpkins on a magnet sheet. Soon as they dry, I'll cut them out and use them on my Stampin' Up Blog planning board for Paper Pumpkin posts. to the right is a Sams Club business card holder I found while searching for something else last night. I'm curious to see how many of those stamping/ scrapbook businesses are still in operation. Below that is my lush dusty mauve planner from Recollections. I decided I wanted a planner specifically for Stampin Up business and I'm in love with it. To the right of that, remnants of a birthday card I made for my SIL in OK. We surprised her with a birthday party last weekend. other than that, there are packages of star brads. Of all the brads I have, how did I NOT have gold stars? And because I am planning 4th of July posts already, I added a package of Red/ White/ Blue star brads as well.

That's it for my desk this week. Who's Miss Julia and why am I here?  That's my desk? What's on yours? WOYWW #404

Exciting stuff, eh? (I really need to learn how to mark my pictures the way Marit does. I like that)
Anyhooo... My laptop where I set it with full ceremony of exhaustion last night. After having purchased a training class back in Dec... thinking I'd put the contents to work, I promptly forgot about the course as I worked hard on the studio. Then Bob came home and the laptop wasn't a priority. Class videos are to expire today and I'd not watched a single one - over 30!!! So yeah, that was my day yesterday. Lots of viewing, note taking and screen grabbing. I was so tired last night I closed down without saving a document. Thankfully, my computer prompted me to save this morning when I booted up. I'd not even shut down so the battery was completely dead.

Other stuff, An SU set from our Holiday catalog and some paper straws I'm going to be showcasing 4th of July Sparkler table decorations with. The campbell soup box contains my card bases/ mats from both In Color collections. I have printed binder spine labels stuck in the front of the file holder. I have the courses for those to print out today. Everything else you've seen.

One last thing - there's still time to join in on the February Color Challenge. Remember, this posts the 3rd Monday of every month, giving you plenty of time to play and build up your color station. The link to the February Challenge is HERE  As I get players, I'll begin picking winners, offering I Won buttons and maybe candy periodically. But you have to play to win ;-)

TEAPOT TUESDAY - Tickle

Our Teapot Tickle for this month was to include a lighthouse as a 'Light of Hope'. This is an InkaDinkaDo set. The 'Hello' is from a 2016 Paper Pumpkin set.  I used Stampin' Up! Marina Mist and ghost stamped part of the sea gulls in flight.

The inspiration for this card was the ATC I made for a swap several years ago. I adhered a pocket in the top half of the card to include one of them. I used the note section of the card to create a beach scene using other stamps from the Inka set as well as blasting sand for the base.

This set is a perfect example of my restraint in purchasing Stampin' UP!. I love the set we have in the Occasions 2017 catalog with the lighthouse (High Tide pg 25) but this set does everything I need, though I do like the sentiments in the SU set.

If anyone is interested in swapping ATCs, I do have a few of these left. I always make my ATCs in sets of 20. I keep #1 then the rest are up for grabs.

Creative Blessings!
