NEEDLE & THREAD THURSDAY - Autumn Rug

I've had this pattern book for years. I'm using the pattern for the rug on the corner. Very simple pattern. Chain the # of stitches to reach the length you want ending in a #2 - Mine is 92 stitches. Then you Slipstitch in 2nd chain from hook, single crochet in the next chain and repeat the pattern Slip/ Sc for the length of the rug using 3 strands at a time and a 'N' hook. When you get to the end of the row, finish off, leaving about 6" for the fringe. Then start over with the next row. ALMOST mindless. I've found you can't get lost in a tv show and forget did you just do a slip stitch or a single crochet. LOL

Here's the trio of colors I'm using:

Hot Orange, Terra Firma and Lime Stripe

The colors don't show up well for the Terra Firma so here's a close up:

And here's the first row and a half:

I'm not sure how many balls this is going to take. I have 3 combined balls this size. I also found that while the balls were each the same size/ weight, they did not have the same amount. I had a lot left of the Hot Orange, about 12" of the Lime Stripe and the Terra Firma came out the shortest. But that's okay. The birds will be looking for nesting material soon so the pieces will provide both warmth and color.

    1. I don't crochet as much as I used to because of the animals wanting in my lap. Now that I have the office, I can work in here a couple hours here and there and maybe accomplish some projects. Hugs!

    1. I will, Nancy. I've done about 8 rows so far and used up 1 mixed ball (3 colors together).
